Aww pup-pups! How exciting!!!

Knox is just outside my ideal size range--I like a dog I can pick up if I have to, and I am shrimpy. Elsie's 38lbs, and she's perfect--large enough to deter people, small enough to be portable.
The standard for Belgians and GSDs is actually the same height wise 22-24" for girls and 24-26" for boys. It's just GSDs tend to be a bit heavier than comparatively sized Belgians because they tend to be heavier boned and longer bodied. And many, many GSDs are oversized, either too tall and/or too heavy boned. Although Knox and my boy Belgian are about the same height/weight.

Elsie and Whimsy are the same size :)

WHYYYYYYYYYYYY!?! Ahh!

Fran, have you seen "Too Cute" on animal planet? I just watched an episode with baby (mini) Aussies! They were PRECIOUS and I thought of you, since you're getting an Aussie baby.

Yeah--I know, and I assume most GSDs are heavier since they're supposed to be the same height, but Belgians are square and GSDs are rectangular. :) But yeah, basically every single GSD I meet on a day to day basis (including my dad's male, who's from a litter someone dumped in the canyon where my parents live) is hugely oversized. Patriot is 95lbs at a healthy weight, and now he's about 90--he's losing muscle as he ages. He's 13.

I almost didn't look into Belgians because I wanted a dog under 50lbs, but after talking to some owners/meeting some dogs I was convinced.

I have been seriously wanting an aussie pup lately and you are not helping, they are the cutest puppies! They remind me of colorful little bear cubs. I can't believe its been four years since mine looked like this:
