The standard for Belgians and GSDs is actually the same height wise 22-24" for girls and 24-26" for boys. It's just GSDs tend to be a bit heavier than comparatively sized Belgians because they tend to be heavier boned and longer bodied. And many, many GSDs are oversized, either too tall and/or too heavy boned. Although Knox and my boy Belgian are about the same height/weight.

But yeah, basically every single GSD I meet on a day to day basis (including my dad's male, who's from a litter someone dumped in the canyon where my parents live) is hugely oversized. Patriot is 95lbs at a healthy weight, and now he's about 90--he's losing muscle as he ages. He's 13. I almost didn't look into Belgians because I wanted a dog under 50lbs, but after talking to some owners/meeting some dogs I was convinced.
