Depends on what you call ''choice.'' It was the people who put two dog aggressive dogs in the pit in the first place. Even if they are the ones to fight, you can't hardly call that a ''choice.'':)
Aggressive? So now they are aggressive? Scary and bloodthirsty I assume and just killing machines too?

I will give the OP the benefit of the doubt at this time and say that I think it is very brave of you to come on here and lay all your cards on the table. That you feel remorse and sadness about your past shows that you have a decent heart. Growing up like that, naturally worked on your brain so that the rush and all that has been made a sort of habit. I think when you throw flowers in the river and sort of memorialize the sadness of the past, it is a healthy thing. Perhaps some therapy would help you work through the rest of it. Replacing any mistaken thoughts about the positives of dog fighting with healthier thoughts of what those dogs feel when they're hurt and killed should go a long way to help you over come any rush at the thought of such horrors to dogs. You seem to love your dogs and that is good. Keep loving them and keep doing what you're doing to help the cause of putting an end to the horrific abuse fighting dogs/bait dogs go through. I'm glad you grew up and used your own head instead of blindly following in your parents' footsteps like so many do.

I'd be fearing for my life right now if I believe that since I do have one. I said dog aggressive dogs, long for DA, not aggressive.

You assume too much. I believe the poster meant that they were DOG aggressive, which is well recognized within the breed.

I agree with the suggestion of counseling for what seems to be an addiction to this particular brand of cruelty.

At 18, you don't know what you are, although finding something besides "McDolla" would go a long way towards helping, unless you're dead set on being the main MC for McDonald's as their title "Dolla-menuaire" spokesperson.

Your parents were/are morons, however. No one in their right mind puts a 5 year old kid anywhere near a dogfight. And no one who knows anything about the actual sport would actually fight their dog to the death. That doesn't serve any purpose, other than they didn't know when to call quits.

Go see a therapist to work through your childhood issues, go back to using your real name and make something of yourself in the real world. Don't be one of those guys who makes it harder and harder for responsible people to own this wonderful breed.
^This.^

seeing who would win, and how the people who came to the fights, turned into family. But that's all really liked
Well, that can be found in many, many venues. If the competitiveness is exciting to you, there are many sports out there. And I've made wonderful friends/family ringside at obedience, agility, herding and breed specific events. I'm sure the same can be done in lots of other venues as well.

A "rush" isn't always a bad thing. I had them when I rode horses, I've had them in the obedience ring, especially when Ares got a perfect heeling score or when Morgan nailed her stays despite having everything working against us that day. I've had them when I did cattle driving with Ares and when I instinct tested Tyr on sheep.

But the need for that rush can become an unhealthy addiction/obsession, in which case professional help may be necessary.

Ok, I don't know if this is Spam or if its for real, but maybe you should think about getting into other, HEALTHIER dog sports - Fly ball, agility, obedience, dock diving, etc. I get a rush from watching my dog when he's after a ball in the water, and he enjoys it so much. It would be a lot better for both you AND your dogs. Good luck.

I was responding to Tahla and her comment that two "aggressive" dogs were placed into the pit. It's a very open-ended statement which is why I responded as I did. While we might have known what she was referring to (although I do not like to assume thus I did not do so....I just responded to the actual words I read), the average person reading these forums most likely will not.

What I do apologize for is responding with sarcasm. It's just that even I get tired of dealing with the ignorance that comes even from those who own these dogs.

This is what Tahla said:

She said dog aggressive dogs. We know this breed can be dog aggressive.
She didn't state aggression in general.

You need to re-read her post. I read it yesterday with no problems and it does state "DOG AGGRESSION".

Have no doubt in my mind this is spam. But if it by some miracle its not. You grew up with some really sick values about dogs.

Or there's always the possibility that it's someone wanting to make a point that Vick should be forgiven . . . Just a thought.

Truth will out, one way or another.

Hi, I go by Bubba. I am 18 years of age. I am a KKK member. I do not participate in lynchings anymore, but I still am a racist. It runs through my veins, I enjoy it. I only think I do though, as I was born into it. My parent have pictures of me, at 5 years old, at a cross burning...................

What's that you say? Its offensive?

Huh...

Personally, I hope this isn't spam. Sure, I find the fact that a person can get a rush out of seeing dogs killed sickening, but at the same time, if the OP feels any remorse at all, then there's hope. I don't think a true killer with only the desire to kill in their heart feels remorse afterwords.

My suggestions would be to seek professional help (hell, if you're 18 and a tattoo artist you must be pretty good at what you do, so I wouldn't believe money is an issue) and go watch a dog sport other then fighting. Watch a dog run a perfect run in agility, or a schutzhund dog make its way to the sixth blind, or a dock dog beat a personal record. That's a rush. You can go out and see dogs in the world succeed with out killing the opposition, and that's a rush, because those dogs you've come to see as cute and funny and cuddly now, are still alive in the end.

And personally, I wouldn't introduce myself as a dog fighter. The world doesn't need to know what you did, especially now while you still miss the rush of it.

You say you were born into it? What about the kid who was born into poverty but made it to school and made a life for himself? Or the girl who was born into an abusive family but grew up, and had her own children and would never dream of laying a hand on them? Only YOU control you. You're an adult. You can change you.

Time to stop missing the rush and realize that you don't need it. If people can beat the rush of drugs, you can beat the rush of watching innocent dogs rip each other to shreds.
