Finally, after 3 long months trying to close on this house, all the hassle and trouble FHA put us through, we finally closed on our house yesterday. Or I should say I closed on our house because poor Justin couldn't be on the loan due to his credit.

I am so happy and relieved. It's funny that now that we closed, we are LESS worried about money. We were being charged an arm and a leg in rent because we moved into the house before we closed. And our mortgage payment is way less than rent. Plus we'll be getting money from the renter since this place came with a rental property above the garage. So not only am I a first time home owner, I am a brand new landlord. Kind of scary. But here I am.

25 years old, I own a home and a rental property. And I'm getting married in May. I feel successful. :)

Well . . . . I will congratulate you - it's a milestone!

And, as a woman who owns her own home, I will also offer you my condolences, it can also be a MILLstone, lol!

Enjoy it :)

I'm going to echo the congrats from above. We bought our first home a year and a half ago, and you have reason to feel good about it. Oh and, if it turns out to be anything like my house did, there isn't ever a lack of projects to keep you busy. :)

Congratulations!! It does look like you're doing excellent at 25 :)

I think this is a proper place to say "This thread is useless without pictures"

Make sure you take pictures with the sign "SOLD" in front of your house & any "before" pictures if you decide to do something to it. I am glad I have those pictures... they show how much our house has improved since it became ours.

Oh, and I second (or third, or fourth) those who said that with the house, you'll be always busy. You'll always find thing to do whether it is to decorate, or repair, or improve something..

We bought our first home last June, and have been doing a little bit here and there to the house since then. Our last project was to plant 20 rose buses in the front yard, make a planter around them & one around the palm trees. Our next project is to plant something more in the front yard, then tackle the backyard, which is now empty (except for the two mature trees that were already there)

Well I haven't gotten around to taking a lot of pictures of the house yet, mostly because my camera is such crap, the battery doesn't hold charge for long. I'm getting a new one for Christmas. But since the Sold sign will only be out there for a little while, I'll go take one now and post it! :)

Congrads...there's nothing like building equity instead of lining your landlord's pocket!
