My 7 month old beagle loves to jump on my bed and chew on my bed covers and pillows. almost every time i scold her she lies down and howls (sometimes bark) at me! Then she runs around like crazy! I was wondering is this kind of behavior was something to worry about....

It sounds like she has a sense of humor. LOL. What you can do is get some super neat toy (better than your bed covers) and get her interested in that and reward for chewing on that....maybe a peanut butter stuffed Kong? Keep her off your bed for a while till she calms down. You can help her calm down by doing other things with her to replace that behavior which is maybe too silly and potentially destructive. Do you practice some obedience skills? Take her aside at times when she's running out of constructive things to do with some treats she reeeeeelly likes in your pocket and get her to get involved with you as a team member. Use positive reinforcement and make training fun. If she is kept more busy and gets plenty of exercise, she'll get more tired out and her mind will mature more as she has thing to think about. Obedience training is amazing in the many ways it helps have a better time with our dogs.

It does sound like she's got a sense of humor . . . and she's trying to tell you "PLAY WITH ME!" By the way, how do you stop laughing long enough to do anything when she does it?

Deffinately sounds like your corrections to her are possibilities for play time. I have the same problem with OC if I don't give him a serious enough correction (I mostly use my voice for corrections so if I don;t make my voice serious enough he thinks it's a big game) he'll play bow and start yipping with his tail wagging. When they do this it's very important that you don't give in and start playing or laughing because this will only encourage them to not take you seriously. You must ignore their playful antics (as cute as it is) and have them perform a command (such as sit) and THEN start playing
