Okay guys, i have a couple questions for you. I live in denver and there is this dog park right across the street from me. So Saddie and I go there about twice a day. Well there is a sign posted stating that aggressive dogs are not allowed in. There is this guy that brings in two dogs.. one is a female doberman who is a sweet heart. The other is a German Sheppard.. that is from Germany.. this is the problem dog. The dog has attacked two dogs 1 chi and one wiener dog. Both were bitting so badly that the owners had to carry it out with blood running down the owners shirt while the dog was limp in his arms. The owner of the GS just laughed and said its a dog park what do you expect. Well one of the other owners asked politely for the guy to leave since his dog is aggressive. The GS owner threw sand in the nice guys face and his GS is attacked trained. So the nice guy called the cops and the cops heard the GS owner threaten for his dog to attack if he didnt get off of the phone. So needless to say the cops came and arrested him.. impounded the dogs.. well he got out two days later with the dogs.. so the nice owner has a Temporary Restraining Order against him.. the guy is not allowed within 100 feet of the park. well the guy is still coming to the park.. and the GS does not have a muzzle on and Saddie went up and sniffed the dogs face and the dog bite her.(nothing to serious). So i called the cops and explained the situation. So the cops came again.. and instead of going to talk to him they decided to yell at me.. for calling them (nice huh?). So today i took saddie to the dog park and that same guy came.. the GS had a muzzle on him. Well he figured who called the cops last time.. so he walked up to me stuck out his hand and was like Hi im kurt you must be saddie.. I looked him right in the eye and said no my name is Bri.. i didnt shake his hand or anything. So he went away to the other end of the park(ps our park is 1/4 long) and was talking to another dog owner.. about me. so the GS is out there pinning dogs left and right.. and the dogs are squeelings.. not something they have ever done before. Well his German Sheppard came up to mine.. mine got behind me.. with about 4 other pups and there owners.. and came forward to smell them.. well i blocked him he would move left i would move left blocking his path to my dog. The GS looked at me and showed his teeth threw his muzzle and growled at me.. and locked eyes with him and backed him down. Then the guy comes over and keeps his dog next to mine.. saddie is buried under the bench trying to get away from the GS. The owner is trying to intimidate me and i wont have it. I grew up with attack trained dogs.. i know what to do. Any suggestions since the police wont do anything..and we cant ban him since its a public place? please help if that attack dog goes after mine... and hurts her.. ill snap its neck. I am not afraid of the dog.. but i dont want to do that if it comes down to it.. Any info would be great.. ps animal control wont even come out when we call.

It would be a case of why many of us avoid dog parks. I'd simply stop going, as it's not worth the risk with people like that there.

:yikes:

Tell me you're exaggerating.

See if you can get the nice guy with the restraining order against Mr. Psycho to come by when Mr. Psycho shows up. He legally has to leave because of the restraining order, and if he doesn't they have to arrest him. Or you can just see if he'll get nasty enough at you for you to get a restraining order against him also.

Also, get the other dog owners to call animal control and the police while stuff is happening. If they are getting multiple calls about an incident in progress from different people, and it's happening often enough, and the guy already has a restraining order against him because of an incident at the park, then eventually they will take notice. If they don't and something terrible happens, I think that there will be some kind of legal repercussions for the city and police as well. At any rate, if people are calling the police about this guy, it just creates more of a a history of complaints about him so that if something terrible does happen, there is a history.

I second what Romy said. If the police impounded the dog, how did he get the dog back? Anyways... definitely the more people calling about it the worse it looks on him.

I find it interesting how many dog-lovers find it 'acceptable' to snap its neck or kick or hit another dog.
I understand the need to defend your own dog but there are definitely better ways. Obviously STOP going to that park until the problem is solved unless you enjoy the confrontation.

Personally I find this whole story hard to believe and exaggerated in the extreme.
ya know, the internet and all that....

just my opinion

Why I don't like dog parks. If the police don't do anything, I would move, but that's just me. Complain to the city and tell them the police aren't doing a good job --- and I wouldn't go to that park again until everything's cleared up.

And how did he get his dogs back if they were impounded?!?! That's the part that throws me off.

And Jean, I have hit another dog before and have no regret. When I owned by Border Collie, Luna, a person like the one in the OP's post had a great dane running around loose on a leash beach. It came at my border collie, so I let Luna loose because her on a leash was not a good idea. The dog came up to me and scratched and bit my leg and went after a still-fleeing Luna. My neapolitan mastiff Plushie set it straight, but when it came at me I took a stook and hit it in the side. Not hard, just a rough little bump and it stared at me.

The owner took his dog into the car and beat it... :( Note I was 15 at the time and that was the second last time I hit a dog. The other time I smacked my brother's border collie in the muzzle by accident when it startled me.

i am not a troll thank you very much.. im a full time student that has job plus a 7 am lab.. plus work afterwords to say in the least im a bit busy.. the nice guy has been coming to the park at different times trying to get him there at the same time. I didnt realize that people on here wouldnt believe me.. but fine whatever.. it is a true story i have to wait for him to do something before i can get a restraining order on him. and since i live in an apartment complex the park is the only place the dog is allowed off of the leash. Also i have no problem defending my dog.. if that dog attacks .. i will attack the dog plan and simple. I think people should not hit there dogs but when it needs to be done i will. i can admit that i probably wouldnt snap its neck that was a little extreme.. but i will probably break a rib or two when i kick it until it leaves my dog alone. the dog is very aggressive and has no problem pinning other dogs and biting other dogs.. I came on here for advice so i thank the ones that gave me advice. Also animal control gave me the advice to obtain pepper spray for protection. usually at the dog park there is usually about 7 people we have all called at the same time. If the dog doesnt do anything thats fine. Also fakekramer: yeah the GS did that to the two dogs.. no joke it was pretty bad. The dogs were impounded since he was arrested and they had to take them when he was. right now i dont know what im going to do just yet.. we are still going but the situation is no better than before. Also i do know that the story is pretty bizziare but this is happened over about a week. I'm starting to think a lot differently about this site now.. i just love people doubting what i say. Its just like talking to the police. Yes this is the internet in all but i dont lie, so if you dont believe me and you live in denver come over to the park and see for yourself.

denver- I'm really sorry, and I do apologize. The poster before me sounded sure, that's why I asked. And it was nothing personal-- we have had people in the past post fake stories just to get everyone riled up, so I'm sorry your story was doubted.

Your situation sounds very dangerous to you, your dog and other dogs. I would just try to stay away from that park if you can.

I would keep pestering Animal Control until they do something, or even get everyone lined with pepper spray at once, so if/when the guy shows up, he is met with a line of people telling him to go back home before trouble starts.

Otherwise, you might have to get creative in how to do some off-leash exercise and just stop going to the park. I feel your pain; I've got a Lab and an Aussie in an apartment and our dog park is being remodled so I don't have any good place besides the tennis court in which to exercise them. It sounds like the guy is getting his kicks that way, so if can't find anyone to bully, he might move on himself.

Denver hound, we have people coming on here all the time
with fake stories and its suspicious to us when someone
posts a story like this and there is not a response for
an extensive period afterwards.

I am appalled at this man and I wish I have some constructive
advice for you. Its sad but it appears that there needs to
be another "incident" for someone to take notice, and the
dog will probably be put to sleep next time... when in reality
its another stupid owner.

Police don't take other dogs attacking dogs very seriously,
even when the dog is clearly injured. I would also step
in and protect my dog like you would, also because I know
that I am more likely to survive and they take human wounds
more seriously.
