I don't really know what to say, other than perhaps some sort of stressor, maybe even not a big one, has the potential to tear you and your husband apart?

Think very hard about walking Voodoo in your dreams and see if he doesn't appear. He's a Chaos Demon, a couple guys in a van are no match!

I had a dream full of spiders the other night; that's an interesting definition Dream Dictionary has.

And here I thought it was just because I had watched part of "Billy and Mandy: Revenge of the Spider Queen" or something equally stupid but filled with spiders.

After Tom died I had soooooooo many dreams that he came back to life . He was big into antiques after he retired from the clothing store . We constantly went to auctions and had 3 booths in 3 towns . Naturally after he died I sold out . But in my dreams he was buying like mad and I couldn't tell him that I sold everything and the shops were gone . These went on for 3 years . Finally in my dream I able to tell myself it was a dream ....and they stopped .

Kevin, you mean like that revolting Kenny G? LOL.
YA! It has the opposite affect on me! It actually gives ME night terrors!

I hope you get it sorted out Gemp........I have never really suffered anything that bad, just the usual bad dreams where I am running and running (very slowly, but never get caught somehow) from something I can't seem to identify..........I always wake up very tired out too.

Thanks for the suggestions, all. I'll try to think on some potential stresses that may be causing this.

But anyway, I have just taken a few shots of tequila and am nicely mellow. I'm about to crawl into bed, cuddle close to hubby, and try to get some sleep. Nightmares be d@mned. Good night.

P.S. I woke up screaming in a cold sweat because Buckshot in drag makes for a really ugly woman, let me tell you.
A small part of me died inside after reading that.

Sleep tight, Gemp... I'll loan you a cat for your dreams. You can keep them in a pocket or something (much less bulky than Voodoo or Bimmer!); then yank them out and throw when needed.

Have you considered writing out your nightmare, like a story..but then write your own ending to it--have the struggle, maybe your dogs come and rescue you as well---I don't know, but it seems that maybe creating your own ending could help to push the nightmare to resolution!
I would also suggest getting a tape on guided relaxation, and learn to really relax your body, and use it about a half hour before bed.
Lastly, how is your husbands health? Anything bothering him that maybe hanging on in your mind? My Aunt had a dream, she went to the DR.--needed triple bypass surgery--had no prior indicators. Had she not listened to her dream and her intuition, she may easily have died.
Thats a really great idea! I should really try that with my dream because I don't like it. It doesn't scare me by any means because I'm watching the whole dream and such I'm not in it, but still its not the nicest story!

you could practice lucid dreaming, i want to learn how but havn't got it sorted yet. its where you can control your own dreams, giving you karate powers or the ability to fly away from a situation.
also you r ment to dream of the last thing you think of when you go to sleep but it doesn't work for me.

the other thing i might suggest, a dream catcher. i used to have a lot of nightmares, form the first day i got a dream catcher, i think i've had 1 nightmare is all.
plus, i'm lucky, when i do get nightmares i get a music in my head just as the nightmare is starting and ending, i am still completley asleep but am conscious to the point where i can decide i can wake up or not. i can actually think about it, once the music stops though, i'm in for the that nightmare, not allowed to wake up till the nightmare is done and i have my music back. a little bit weird but VERY helpful.

Well, last night was a bust. Only one nightmare, but I still couldn't sleep. Oh well, so much for that.

I blame you all. Though it's not really your fault, I'd already had two of these dreams before this thread started...

I am having a reoccurring nightmare about Tom, my older cat, eating a small pocketknife with a red plastic handle and either choking on it or cutting his insides up. In every dream, he dies because I can't get him to the vet in time. I woke up this morning in a frenzy, crying and looking for Tomcat, and when I found him I ran into the computer room (where he dies in my dream) looking for a red pocket knife... I finally ended up not finding anything and closing+locking the door.

I don't want to have this dream again.. it's horrible.. I keep holding him while he dies... :(

When you go to bed , ask ( after you've said prayers for others near and dear to you ) for God's forgiveness of your sins and for guidance . Then ask for the white lights to surround your dream and have you remember them in the morning .I 've never had a real nightmare since doing this .
