I want my pitbull puppy to have real buff, muscular body. I jog/walk him everyday with a harness.. Any other tips?
First, like other people have asked, how old is this puppy? Working a puppy too young can damage his growth plates; If he can't move properly, he can't build muscle tone. Second, I hate to say this, but your APBT will only get as muscular as his genetics are going to allow him to be, and no more, no matter
how much or what type of work you put him in.
That said, walking and jogging are only good for keeping your dog lean, and building wind/stamina, unless you're walking with drag weight (using a proper pull harness and doing the actual walking with a collar, NOT using a walking harness). That isn't something I would be doing with a puppy. To build up muscle bulk and tone, you work the neck, jowls and back with a springpole; overall condition, use a carpet mill. Again, absolutely
none of these things should be done with a puppy. I would personally wait until your dog is at least 16 months to start light work, and build up from there as he gets older.
