I have to leave for a week and my parents agreed to watch my dogs. (I couldn't find anyone else.)But they have a un-nuetered (is that a word) male and I have a JRT female puppy. My puppy is going to be 18 weeks at that point or 4 and a half months. Can she get pregnate that early? I don't want her to!! I am trying to see if I need to put her in a kennell. Which I would hate to do 'cause they just don't spend any real time with them at all the ones I called. They feed them twice and clean their cage twice some walk them once(but just to poop). I wish I could find one that would take them out and play with them... If anyone knows of any in New Orleans Area. I wouldn't even leave at this point but it is a emergency and time is working against me in trying to find out what I am going to do.

Not very likely she would come into heat. Also its not an overnight thing. So if by some strange chance she was going to (normal is after 6 months and before a year) come into heat, your parents should be able to notice and keep them apart. Also kennels will not take dogs in heat. Not sure what they do if they come into season while they are there.

She s houldn't be going into heat at 4 and 1/2 months. You don't to b reed her do you? You should get her spayed when y ou can, but before she goes into heat around 6 months.

No, I don't breed her she is a little baby. LOL :) But that's why I am nervous, I know she can't handle puppies. I have to be gone for a week hopefully no longer, thats why those kennells just seem like torture for my pups. All my other dogs are spayed/nuetered. I just really don't know what I should do.
