I know I post quite a few stories on here but i figured its alittle extra way to get to know all my dogs eventually.

Roxy did'nt come to me like most of my dogs she wasent bought and she wasent adopted she was found. I had been here for a couple years and i go for a food run lol when this dog bounded out in front of me!!! I slamed on my breaks and watch the dog take off into the woods. So I did'nt think much of it i could tell just by first glance she was a pure bred Husky maybe 3 or 4 years old and i figured she had to belong to someone. On my way back home i saw the husky again sitting at the side of the road watching each car drive by. Thats when it hit me she was probley a drop off....So i opened up the car door and called to her and it seemed like she would'nt have cared who i was she was ready to jump into my car no matter what. She was a sweet dog a light gray and white female with cute little black tipped ears and Bi colored eyes.

Even though I assumed she was a drop off i did'nt want to take any chances. So I called some local animal shelters and put up some posters but I got no leads. She was all but shy and was enjoying being here. I decided to keep her I took her to the vet and she turned out to have great physical attributes no illness no hip issues no heart, lung, kidney, stomach, or eye issues either. My vet made a comment that she would make a great breeding dog. I was pretty new to breeding on my own and none of my dogs up until then had the stuff to make a great breeding dog a black and white male named Pheonix. And so I talked to my parents and asked their opinion. I was cautiouse since i breed to better the breed of huskies and was worried that if people found out that Roxy was a stray at one point they would question my ethics but i did it anyways. At 22 i had my firstvery own breeding and birthing experience :D . Roxy had 6 beautiful and nicely formed puppies one of which i kept his name is Buck. I havent bred and don't plane on breeding Roxy again she hated not being able to run everyday. So i figured she gave me the best gift and i did'nt want to become greedy and ask for anouther.

Roxy is one of the barn dogs but is still very special to me. It just proves that you can find some of the most beautiful things in the most unexpected places.

just so you know not all my dogs came to me in such a sappy way lol like i said most were bought or adopted. Roxy is just a special case.

Aww. That's not just a story of how Roxy came to you but of how Buck came to you as well. Do you ever hear about how the puppies are doing? I'm Bucks bros and sis?

She was definitely meant for you.

What do you do when your dogs 'retire'? Will she get to be a house dog then? And just so I can get a better visual what does your dog barn look like? I'm so curious today. It's cuz I have TONS of work today and would rather use my time here. LOL

Lol alright to answer your questions. I see most of the pups every once in a while because each of her pups were sold to family members and friends. When my dogs retire when I retire them around their tenth year and yeah they just become house pets after that. Most of the reitred dogs hate not being able to pull anymore so they just get extra exercise and play time.

Ok and then here's my best description of the barn. Its are large ex riding arena actually where i have 20 chicken wire and wood make shift dog kennels one next to anouther on opposite walls with their own dog houses (those cheap dog igloo ones) inside the pens with a soft dog bed inside and toys. Sorry i don't have measurements im not good at memorizing that stuff so im sure im confusing). Then there is a small walk in closet we built in the middle of the right wall which holds all the halters, booties, grooming supplies and other equipment for the dogs. And then outside of the barn I have a small old shed where I keep my sleds. Thats my best description I'll try and get some pics take on it soon its a nice set up for the little bit of money I put into it. Its warm though and the dogs are comfortable.

Oh I never doubted that they were comfortable. They must have interesting conversations at night! :)

Measurements would just confuse me I'm sure. LOL

thanks for sharing! I would like to see pics if it's not too hard to do. Do you have lots of snow there right now?
