how often to use a kong

^^^^yeah if you freeze the wet dog food, yogurt or cottage cheese it will last MUCH longer. Plus if your pup is teething the cold will soothe it. I suppose if you use a good quality wet dog food two kongs would not hurt you just shouldn't feed as much in her regular meals. If it gives her diarrhea then don't give as many. Also if you place some dry food in there so it is hard to get out it will last longer but when I did that my dog would always just give up, the reward was not great enough for him. Too much peanut butter will make him sick but a light coating on the inside should not.
I think a kong for each period of time the pup is left alone in the crate is great. You can freeze them the night before so the last longer and feel good on teething gums too.
I would use good quality canned dog food or acnned tripe for much of you filler esp if this is a small puppy but adding some PB, cheese or yogurt is good too-- makes it fun and interesting.
I also like raw beef knuckle bones - they keep my dogs occupied for even longer than kongs.

the freezer tricks works great even when there is no teething going on...we still do it occasionally...just makes the Kong last longer 
the amount you give varies so much for every dog. Oakley could prob eat a jar of peanut butter and STILL not gain weight, cause he is just such a lean dog....however, he would prob get really bad diarrhea...so you just adjust it to what works best. If you google, or search 'kong recipes' you will come up with endless amounts of things

My Maddie will carry around her kong even if there is nothing in it! Her favorite is a kong-knock-off that has indentations to make it look squirrel shapped.

How often you stuff it to give to the dog depends what you are stuffing it with. I give one to the boys anytime they have to spend long hours in the crate or anytime we are traveling (which isnt all that often). Peanut Butter shouldnt be given to often as it is very fattening. Since you would be giving yours twice a day why not break up her meals and feed them frozen in the kong? You could soften the kibble witha bit of water to really be able to load up the kong as so it freezes better too.
