How often do you really wash your dog dishes? Sounds stupid.. but for a while I was hit and miss.. They'd get done but no where near daily. Since she gets off and on raw, they get picked up and washed after every meal cause I'm on it..

Thinking about it though I know people that never wash them.. I'm just curious how diligent people are about it? Cider's a princess on water. If it's not clean she won't drink, so those dishes were getting washed for a while more than the food bowl... Sounds bad like that though..

I'll sometimes let the food dishes go for a day. Kitties are fed WET, so once is all I'll let happen. Edit: what I mean is that usually I was them right after they are done eating. Sometimes I am lazy and let them eat one more meal out of them if it's a short while later.

The water dish.... swished out with water and soap and refilled daily. Some days I skip on the soap. In any case, it's scrubbed nice and clean.

Riots dish - because of all the suppliments he gets. I wash his dish every couple uses or so. Other then that the Huskies clean it between times lol

Their water dish is washed/scrubbed every week because it gets a film along the bottom of it. They get fresh water twice daily regardless if its full or not though.

When I fed raw, after every meal. Kibble- rinsed after the am feeding, washed after the pm feeding.
Water- dumped and filled everyday, washed every couple of days.

In the dishwasher a couple times a month. Other than that, I just rinse them if needed between feedings. I have smooshy faced dogs which means they wash their own dishes...:D ;)

Food dishes are rinsed in the morning, and then dishwashered in the evening, after dinner.

They're given fresh water two to three times daily, so the bowls are rinsed out quite a bit during water changing times, but they're ran through the dishwasher once or twice a week.

Lillian just picks at her food, so when one food bowl is being dishwasherd at night, a second one is left out. Yes - she's spoiled. :lol-sign:

Sent through the dishwasher once a week . . . even when feeding raw. The water bowl gets wiped out every day, and put thru the dishwasher once a week.

I feed raw and feed them outside. The dish is little more than a carrying vessel for me, as soon as they start to eat they pull everything out of the bowl and put it on the ground. (so much for a clean place to eat Aussie Red!) After they are done they lick their bowl clean, and then go lick each other's clean. I rinse them before each meal but only dishwasher them once a week or so.

If the bowl has had the spotless Loki tongue wash, I don't mess with it. If its got crumbs or chicken blood or anything like that, I spray it out with hot water. All the bowls get thrown in the dishwasher once in a while, and they get a good scrubbing once they've started to get that filmy stuff on them.

I wash the M&M&M's food/water bowls nightly. They are free-feeding, so I give them clean water & fill their food bowl every morning before I go to work, refill the water & move the remaining kibbles to a different food bowl in the evening (they have two sets of bowl) - then wash the former set when I wash my dishes after dinner.

For Leo, we are still softening his kibble with water, so it gets washed thoroughly after every meal. Actually, we have a few dishes (all the same), so sometimes we just drop one in the dishwasher and use another one. Anyway, they are always clean.
