How often do you clean your....

Coffee pot? We got a new one last Christmas and tonight is the first time I have done the pot of vinegar and two of just water. Bet my coffee is going to be awesome tasting tomorrow. I like it bitter so I guess a dirty pot served me just fine but still!

My coffee pot is at Dunkin Donuts. I don't know how often they clean it. The one we have at home that my wife uses, though, she cleans maybe once every 6 months (other than washing the pot daily). She runs white vinegar through it a couple times a year. That's it.

My coffee pot is at Starbucks... I hope they clean it regularly but it doesnt really matter because it tastes great every morning so Im good whether they clean it or not

I have a bunn, and I have had it for a long time and I have YET to run vinegar through.

How much do I do??
An entire pot of vinegar??? That seems like an awful lot of vinegar. Are you sure that's right?
I don't want to be drinking coffee douche in the morning!

I don't mean that I have never cleaned the pot or filter, just not the inside!

I googled how to clean it and it said a full pot of vinegar but like you I thought that's overkill so I did half vinegar and half water and then two pots of just water.

I'd say we run vinegar through it about once every two months or so. Our pot gets used every single day, so I am sure that's not really enough cleaning, LOL

Oh, and I don't use an entire pot of vinegar either! 1/2 and 1/2 seems to be just fine.

As to that, I really don't know. We've had the thing a year and it only faintly smells like coffee, and there's no staining, so I guess it's clean.. LOL!

I only have to wash dishes every 3 or 4 days and put pot and filter unit is dish washer . Rarely need to do the vinegar cycle . When I do ... I add vinegar and after letting it stand for a while , use a brush and then put through cycle .

I don't know how often my mom cleans the coffee pot, but Im sure she does ofter, seeing as she's such a clean freak. xD I have one of the pad thingys... s never. lol

It all depends on how hard your water is I would imagine, I live in a very soft water area, our water comes from natural sources, so in essence I get bottled mineral water out of the tap.. I have had my kettle for 2 years and there's still not a single speck of scale in it.. So I don't see the point in making my house STINK for nothing.. The coffee machine is temperamental at the best of times so I think I will leave it WELL alone!

So, I ran half a pot of vinegar through my bunn last night.
Then I ran 6 pots of water through it (at least, it might have been 7 or 8). And maybe it was just a psychological thing because my husband couldn't smell any vinegar, but I swear I took a sip and was like, "EW! COFFEE DOUCHE!"
And I poured it out.

I haz no coffee this morning.
