Once a week. Mainly because Travis gets his coat all pissy and stinky. So if he is going down, so are the girls.

Lilly gets a horrible smell about 3 days after a bath so she gets jammed in the bath religiously!

Like...never. We do it with flea shampoo to get rid of fleas, but I've never given her a bath because she was dirty.

Sierra gets a bath every 1-2 months. It's convenient having tubs at work and groomers who don't mind doing her for me since she's so easy. When they're too busy or aren't around I'll do it myself.

in the summer they are constantly in and out of the pond/river. And they get more baths because they find more nasty to roll in.

But in the winter they can go months. (its not like the snow is going to get them dirty lol)

It depends. Sometimes in the summer he needs bathed more frequently, depending what he's gotten into. I'd say every six weeks on average, sometimes a bit sooner and sometimes a bit longer.

Mine are bathed probably about once a month, even if they don't need it. They all sleep in our bed, so I like having them clean :)

Bella gets a bath about every 2 months sometimes a lot longer than that, water aggrevates her eczema so I don't usually, unless she's rolled in the mud or something stupid then I HAVE to clean her up because she sleeps on my bed. I wipe her coat with a wet towel every week/every day when it rains though so that keeps her decent.

Leo gets a bath often, because he is a slob and rolls in sand, walks in ****, drools all over himself and he also never ever grooms himself so he is usually filthy. He gets a bath sometimes more than once in a week sometimes once a month sometimes longer than that it just depends on his filth factor at the time. He sleeps on the floor on his own cushion in my parents room so I don't really care much unless my mom yells and points our Leo is dirty and she refuses to have him in her room.

Mine just get greasy after about 4 weeks. My shelties didn't need bathing quite as often it seems. I think part of it is hair type. The paps are pretty wash and wear in that they an be covered in gunk and they will dry looking completely clean. But their fringe starts clumping after about 4 weeks and they just feel SO much cleaner after a bath.

I just can't stand strong doggy smell either. I remember going to the park and the nastiest smelling husky came and jumped on me. I swear I could still smell it all day on me. I don't know how people live with a dog that smells that bad.

I can't stand it when dogs smell bad, and their coats are so greasy it leaves a film on your hands :yikes:

I went to someone's house before with Ian to buy some coral, and I started to pet their Golden Retriever... and it was SO stinky. I wanted to wash my hands soooo badly. I can't stand the smell of dogs who are dirty and fed crappy food... I don't know how people can live with that.

Jack gets a bath once a month. He's sort of a buff color, and dirt shows up very easily on him. Missy gets one every 2-3 months. I can't give her one at home, she's TERRIBLE about it (barking, whining, jumping out of the tub, etc), so when Jack goes to the groomer to get clipped, Missy goes and gets a bath. She's MUCH better there.

As needed. We don't really have a routine. We bath very little in the winter as Desoto is perfectly fine in the tube and being groomed, but HATES the drier. So I do it only when really necessary. In the spring, fall, and summer he is bathed more often, once every month or so usually. He loves to play in the muckiest parts of the property. The dirt brushes off easily but the white parts of his coat can start to get discolored and murkier which drives me nuts. Sadie usually just gets washed with cleaning cloths and dry shampoo if needed and her coat is strategically clipped as at her age she finds it really stressful to be washed.

^ This. Chloe's a really clean dog. Since we don't have a fence, she doesn't really go outside much except to walk, and to go potty. So we really just bathe her randomly. I can't think of a time when she really "needed" a bath. We just give her a bath when we think of it. Sometimes it's every 2-3 weeks, sometimes it's every 1-2 months.

I REALLY wish I remembered to do it weekly... lately it's been about every two weeks maybe? Sometimes they go MONTHS - but they're hounds, so IDEALLY every other week for all of them... they're just kind of greasy.

Eve is bathed frequently when she goes places with me. I use a gentle shampoo just to keep her skin and fur clean and to keep her from shedding a lot.

Probably once a week. When I'm not going anywhere that requires her presence, she isn't bathed at all.

Same thing happened to me (besides the coral, lol). The dog was a big sweetheart, and I wanted to pet her, but I got this film on my hands, so I stopped really quickly.

ETA: Like I said, since Millie needs to be clean where she goes she gets bathed often, and I feel similarly with Lucy, since she's alway on me and sleeps against my face often. If she smelled I wouldn't be able to stand it.

This thread reminds me my dogs both need a bath about now.

You can bathe them?! Huh.

Meg gets done a couple times a year at most. Usually on a hot day when I'm hosing the horse off, I'll call her over and give her a quick once over.
