How often and how much

I hope this is the right forum to ask this. I am wondering how oftten and how much to feed my 2 dogs. I have a 7 year old shihtzu who is overweight. I also have a 1 year old malshih(maltese/shihtzu) who is done growing and weights around 5 lbs.
I have bought a special food for the overweight dog. It is for overweight less active adult dogs.
Then I have the food for the puppy. I am going to have to feed them seperately and I wonder how much and many times a day for each dog??
I realize it says on the bag, however I have read many times that is not what you should go by. Thanks so much!

I'd feed less normal real adult food and mix in some vegetables than go with an overweight formula. Lot of it i just fillers to poop back out.

I feed my 3 year old and my 6 month old 2x a day, mornign and evening. If you have any hypoglycemic issue especially with the smaller one you might need 3 times a day though.
