I went to a low-cost clinic offered by the Humane Society where I live, $20.

Not sure how much a private vet is, but my vet would offer vouchers for applicants that applied [low income families] where you can get your dog spay for $10.

Izzy was $121 for the spay.
The only other thing they charged us for was a shot of Rimadyl which was $12.

Very good point.. Here it is also less for a small dog. Would the posters mind to tell me how much the dog weighed then?

Holy cow i didnt know there was such a difference i thought it went by the age and weight of the dog. I got koda spayed when she was six months and it was a hundred and something. But my male puppy kio that i just got a couple weeks ago i wasent planning on neutering until 6 months is it more expensive if you wait or more for males i have ?

A spay is more of a surgery- ie meaning abdominal incission verses a neuter. I have males back to normal fast where as, as it is with humans, it takes females longer.
Since its abdominal surgery, it is usually more expensive for a spay than a neuter.

** anyway- back on thread- on spay prices in your area..**

When we had Tengu spayed it was through a low income clinic. It was originally $45, but they upped it to $65 since she was in heat. We had it done then because she had bitten though the back door and escaped overnight trying to find us, and we had no idea if she had gotten bred when it happened.

ETA: Her weight was 65 lbs and she was about 10 months old at the time.

Cider was $250CAD 3 years ago. It was spay and umbilical hernia repair, no blood work, no pain killers.
