Hobbit mix - free from Humane Society I helped out in
Oso - 85$ from Animal Shelter included 1st shots, rabies vaccine, neutering, first hw pill, first flea treatment, first worming, and a microchip
My dogs were all free... but only because my brother is GRet. Breeder.. so that's where Bailey came from. (normally he sells for 500 with papers or 350 with out. Not sure where he gets his prices from) Brooke came from an idiot breeder and was essentially a rescue.. but actually given.. Sandy was the last of a litter given to my kids. All are registered.. all have their health cert. and guarantees.. I have been lucky...
HOWEVER... in our shelters.. a dog is 150.00 includes shots and neutering.. I think that is a great price for all you get... At local pet stores.. around 500-600 for any breed.. mut or otherwise..... and in the Toronto pet stores... A mut will run you 500 or 600 and a dog supposely from a reputable breeder will be over 2Grand with no papers or guarantees... It's craziness.

I noticed that you are in Canada. It's my understanding it is Illegal to sell a pure bred without papers. It like the pure bred animal act or something like that.
Please correct me if I am wrong. Im not trying to accuse anyone of anything Im just curious.
Anyways.
Emma - was $1200. She is a "Field bred" beagle.
No Name - Is pick of the litter female should cost $2000 but Dan is making a deal with me. I pay $500 and we sign a contract that he gets first litter. After she is a Champion and After she turns 2.
My last bought female was $350 about 25 years ago .... my last litter went at $500 .... 15 years ago. Chip was a " hand back " ... they had paid $450 for him , had his hips done for $1600 ., training cost them about $500 .... money aside, he's my pal and I am his. Priceless !
Mojo was $40 and a 3month wait - with shots, neuter, teeth cleaning, and a nice 6 month training on how to act in a Vet's office. I got him through an adoption program at the local Vet Tech school - he was one of their models. I submitted the papers in late February to adopt, and took him home in May at the end of the school year.
I used those months to research pit bulls (pros and cons) so I'd know what I was getting into. Prior to Mojo i was actually scared of and prejudiced against Pits due to the Media. I hadn't realized how much the Media and my parents had influenced me, but boy it and they are both wrong about the breed!
In hindsight though I can say that it has been the best $40 I have ever spent!
