I answered one AND two. Pit's mine, but Zero lives with me too so I consider him mine even though he's not.

5 family dogs for now. Me personally, just one. We've had 6 at the most.

I think I'll probably just have two (summer and the new pup) for a long while. I do like having a pack though, so in the future I'll probably be the crazy dog lady.

There's only been a 4 month period since I've had dogs that I've just had one dog. We have 4, which works fine:) I don't think I'd ever want to be under 3

5 at home at this time. One that will go back to a handler after she has been proven this summer in the working field and after she has been bred/whelped.
I'll either keep a female pup or place the females on breeding contracts to see how they mature etc, not sure what I am doing yet. At which time, my numbers will either be 5-6 for the next few years.

wait... you mean you're not already the crazy dog lady!?!?!?!?!

:p

I have 2. I think size makes a big difference in how many you can and can't have. Personally, I don't think I could ever handle more than one large breed dog at a time...

I put one and two.

Milo is mine...I care for him, pay for a lot of his stuff, if I get my own place he'll come with me.

I live with my parents, and they have a wheaten terrier, Benji. I play with him and see him on a regular basis, but don't do things like groom or take him to vet appointments or pay for him...or train him.

Then there's Zach's parents dog, Giselle, whom I talk about quite a bit. Zach lives with them and I spend a lot of time there...plus we house-sit/dog-sit a lot for her.

I'm down to my own two Chihuahuas and my son's 50lb dog that lives with me. There will come a time when I just have the two Chi's probably. These are all adults, well behaved and don't have huge exercise requirements. I'm lovin the simplicity of the smaller number and of that number, 2/3 of it weighs in at a total of about 15 lbs...65 lbs if you total all 3. Easy street. I've had 4 at a time a lot of the time, two larger sized dogs and I must say, I'm getting used to the relaxing life style with my dogs now.
