How long does it take for a dog to "pass" things?

Hi,
I was wondering how long it normally takes for a dog to "pass" things, or even to digest. My dog (50 lb lab mix) *may* have swallowed a piece of gravel on Sunday evening. We were in the parking lot of an ice cream stand and I caught her with her mouth in the gravel (probably licking dripped ice cream). I don't know if she ate any gravel (made of pebbles, rocks and pieces of seashell). She acted normally yesterday, and "eliminated" normally, which for her is morning and evening. Today I'm worried because she didn't "go" before we left for work. I'm anxious to see what happens later today.

What do you all think? Am I paranoid? Probably...

Im not sure..
My dog had a really runny poop yesterday..
I think it was because she spent the weekend with my MIL (who I have asked not to give the dogs left overs/table scraps) but she does anyways..

Most of the time small pebbles like that don't cause any issues if there were just a few ingested.

I would say the max it takes something to pass through under normal circumstances is 36 hours. Usually less. Sometimes MUCH less.

You can help whatever's in there move on out with high bulk foods like plain canned pumpkin, steamed french green beans, or whole grain foods such as brown rice or whole grain breads with high fiber.

What red said. I doubt pebbles, gravel, etc. will cause a blockage, especially in a large dog.

Thank you for putting a nervous mommy's mind to rest while she is at work.

Elektra already gets oat bran in with her food to help with "issues" with her anal glands but I may give her some pumpkin just to help things along.
