I was shocked that my 9 year old brother still believes to be honest. Because he's very mature, etc, and probably knows a lot more than he should in general, LOL, so when he made a comment tonight about the Easter Bunny coming, I was shocked.

I don't know if he's just... acting like he still believes, because it'd be awkward for him to ask, or he just doesn't wanna admit that he knows, or something, or if he TRULY believes. I kinda laughed about something to do with the Easter bunny tonight with my dad and my bro was all like "what?!" so I'm sure he guesses something is up.

Like I honestly remember me and my friends knowing for sure by around 6/7 years old. Santa is one thing... I was like 10 until I believed in Santa. But honestly the idea of a bunny, a giant-ass one at that, hoping into my house just always seemed not believable. LOL. Not to mention, I was around 6 when I saw my mom out back hiding Easter Eggs, hahaha. I didn't tell her for a while though that I knew. But it was the same with Tooth Fairy for me. It was kinda just like... obvious to me, I think.

I was born knowing that the Tooth Fairy, Santa, and the Easter Bunny were not real. My parents just told me the truth from the beginning.

I know a 11 year old that still believes in Santa... I don't know but that just seems too old for me.

I kind of agree. I'm all for having an imagination and I LOVED the magic of Santa. But, I think 11/12 is pushing it.

That's kind of why I just wanted to tell my brother straight up lol (about the bunny)... I'm just like, dude, you're smarter than this. Not to mention, his mom ran to the store tonight after my dad was like 'uhhh, we don't have any candy or anything' LOL.

I know a 13-year-old that still believes in Santa. I don't really mind, when so many kids are growing up too fast it's kinda nice to see a slower one, haha.

With that in mind, never! I always knew my Mum gave us the jelly beans/seeds/chocolate we get. Same with Santa, that was never encouraged/discouraged either way, and it was nice to pretend, but neither I nor my siblings ever believed in such things (tooth fairy, etc).

My sister is coming up on 10, she does not. I don't know of many kids who do actually believe in the easter bunny, really.

I was 7 or 8ish? My brother saw my sister outside hiding the Easter eggs and yelled for me to come look. Pretty much the moment that ruined my childhood lol.

my parents catered to my imagination in many ways (like with fantasy books and harry potter)
but they were never big holiday make believerish people. I never did santa or the easter bunny or anything of that sort.
We have a thing about lying. So they NEVER EVER told us that ___ was real if we asked directly. They either let us come to our own conclusions or said no if we persisted.

It was a lot of
"Mom/dad is the easter bunny real?"
"What do you think?"
"I don't know..bunnies don't lay eggs and why don't all kids get candy and how would he put all the eggs out every where in one day etc..etc.."
"well there you go"

My dad, typical science geek, was a firm believer in teaching us to question everything, to use facts to back up opinions, to only believe what we KNOW and try to figure out what we don't, to learn and question etc...
I knew what "peer review" was at age 6 :rofl1:

To the question "Why do the leaves change color" other kids got "oh it gets cold and they change to stay warm" or "magic of ____" .. I got a lesson in chlorophyll lol

Anyway, yea, no easter bunny.
I still loved finding eggs though!

I don't think I ever really believed in the Easter bunny, (or Santa), past age 6. I think my niece caught on by age 7 but the nephews are a little slower on the uptake. :)

My mother, however, persisted in making and hiding Easter baskets for all of her kids, even through college. I think she just liked to make us hunt through the house (and prove she could slip into our rooms, hide the basket and get out without waking us). She was the Evil Easter Bunny...

I never really believed in him. I suppose it's because I grew up going to church but always was jealous when other kids like my cousins got Easter baskets and candy and I didn't. I got a few from family but never my parents. My grandma made sure to include me though and got me a little candy and perfume.

I honestly don't remember really an age. I do know though that I was a hard core believer and hung on as long as I could to those things like the Easter Bunny and Santa which included turning a blind eye to a lot of things.

Funny story though, one year we were at my grandmas house in Wisc for Easter, just my mom, sister and grandmother and there was a ton of snow out. We were going home that day but mom (Easter Bunny) wanted us to have something to wake to so she made baskets up and put them outside in the snow and made bunny tracks to them.

When we got up and found them there was bunny poop next to the baskets. Or, at least some animal poop. Totally sealed my belief in the Easter Bunny. After I found out the non existence of said bunny I always assumed my mom went the extra mile that year only to find out she didn't do that and couldn't believe it when she saw it either.

Best coincidental poop ever.

I honestly don't remember an age, but I believed in Santa much longer than I did the Easter Bunny. I was an animal and nature loving kid, and was very into the way nature worked--I watched tons of nature shows had tons of nature books, etc. Rabbits were small, flighty prey animals that didn't seem up to the task of egg delivery. My kid brain just found the whole bunny thing to be much less plausible than Santa.

My mom did tell me that I was much less scared of the Easter Bunny than I was Santa when it came time for mall pictures.

I was always a very skeptical child. I never believed in any of it. I was always "Whatever you say, Dad, but that sounds like horse poop to me."

I can't say I ever believed in it....... I don't think it's celebrated here like that. At least not in my family.

Easter seems to happen in other places more. But then again, I come from the least religious family ever :) we did get Easter eggs, but it was never from a bunny..... I honestly don't think he even existed in our house, ever.

I think maybe six or seven, maybe eight? I do remember my mom going to great lengths for us to believe in Santa Claus though... she once bought my sister two of the same DS game so that both she and Santa gave her one, then she said, "I'll return the one I got you because I still have the receipt for it." :p

We still did an Easter egg hunt until we were maybe 13 though, now we just get candy in our basket.

Were there a lot of poops in the running for that competition? :p

I'm not sure how long I believed - I don't think very long. I have an older brother who wasn't shy about sharing what he knew, so probably as soon as he was old enough to know it was fake, I knew as well.

I remember being little and thinking the easter bunny was kind of a stupid idea. I think it was mainly the mall easter bunnies- I knew they were completely fake. No bunnies are that tall and it just seemed odd that a bunny would be giving you chicken eggs.

I believed in Santa much longer although I never told my parents I knew the truth about Santa. I didn't want to hurt their feelings about it and knew they put on such an effort to make him seem real.

I have to say that I am surprised that, with 5 older siblings, the only thing that ruined the Easter bunny/santa/tooth fairy for me was being awake early enough to see them hiding eggs. I'll give kudos to my siblings for playing along with it so well hahahah.

Never.
My mom always made it a point to stress that the reason we celebrate Easter and Christmas is strictly religious. Which is really funny because none of her children are even remotely religious now.
