Just curious because this is so relevant today. Bleeeeearg.

I was coughing a lot, and Syl hated it. I guess coughing sounds mean to her, so she'd get all trying to throw me as many appeasement behaviors as she can. And started making out with Kobe a lot. And looked like this a lot.

(My cell phone is crappy at taking pics.... sorry for the weird effects)

And when trying to appease me, she took on to a more hands-on approach by trying to kill me with kindness. She planted herself over my mouth to stop my coughing.

When that failed, she decided that I was dead and tried to do that thing where you close a dead person's eye with a magic hand wave sort of thing you see in movies and TV shows often.

Creepy but at least I could breathe again.

Meanwhile... Kobe slept the day away with not a care about the precarious position I was in. Good thing he's so cute so he can get away with it.

Caleb glues himself to my side when I'm sick. Last spring he slept in my lap the couch/reclicer all day and night until I started feeling better. If I lay on the floor with a migraine, he either curls up against me or across the top of my head while I sleep. This past spring my husband was pretty sick, and I found Caleb sleeping in front of the couch as close as he could get to him.

I *knock on wood* don't think I've been really sick since I've gotton Abrams. Maybe a mild cold or terrible short lived indigestion, but nothing too horrible. I'd imagine he wouldn't be too fussed about it, though. Maybe a bit more submissive due to me having a short fuse when ill.

He does *not* like it when I cry, though. Not at all. He throws toys at my face, chews on me, and tries to sit on my head until I stop.

Cynder ignores me. Lol

They don't care lol they're just like WHY ARE YOU LYING DOWN AND NOT PLAYING WITH US. And then I get booped in the face with a cold nose or sat on top of or something equally less cute when you don't feel good.

Jackson's not any more... loving or cuddly to me, but he does tend to understand that I need to be left alone and he's just going to have to sleep all day today.

One night when I had stomach bug and was throwing up all night, he was just looking at me very concerned, but I was obviously always annoying him because he eventually just went to lay under the bed. I think he was sick of my up/down all night. lol

Brisbane is very gentle and undemanding when I'm sick. He stays close and is content to chill all day for at least a week if necessary, which was amazing after I had an emergency appendectomy when he was under a year old and still completely wild. When I had swine flu while living in a second-floor apartment, he minimized requests to go out to potty until my husband got home. Same thing when I had knee surgery, he even behaved himself on potty outings while I was on crutches, and absolutely clobbered the neighbor's loose golden retriever who was rushing over to gleefully body-slam my knees.

Everyone but Harrison (and he gets a pass because A, I've only had a migraine so far while I've had him, and B, he's six and a half months old)

Indy is all about deep pressure if I need it. If she could squeeze herself inside of me to make me feel better she would. Enzo is more passive, like "I'm here if you need something besides my presence" and Ozzy could give a crap less.

If I'm crying Indy gets SUPER concerned. She'll bring me toys, roll around on the bed, lick my face, get super close to me, and all around just trying every antic in the book to make me laugh. Enzo is more about "I'm just here for moral support and physical comfort" None of them like it when I really really cry and feel like crap, but they display it in different ways. Ozzy is more about "I'm in the room, available for cuddles if you want" but he's not exactly the best cuddler (all of my dogs except Enzo are like cuddling furry cinderblocks because of their muscle or general bonyness, except Indy who seems to be able to switch that off and just melt)

I think I realized Indy was way more in tune with my emotions when she's off duty when she brought me her prize rawhide and tried to give it to me during a really bad day. Like, she was super concerned that I take it, and once I was holding it, draped herself across me.

General sick crud though, Indy is right there, but the others are usually "ew germs" lol. Harrison is learning, but right now he's more "I'm going to sit like a vulture over you and watch you creepily. Like the Sting song. He has yet to lay down in the bed when invited up, though if I lay down after he's laying in bed, he's content to chill.

Right now (I have the plague) Pippa is doing everything in her power to convince me to not be sick. "Let's go for a walk! Let's sprint around the house! Let me bite your face/hands/feet and then you will stop feeling so shitty!"
