how do you know your dog is happy?

sometimes my dog just looks sad. My husband says its the hound in her and doesnt mean she is sad. Her tail is always wagging, the only time she cries is when she cant find a place to bury her biscuts. sometimes she just looks so ... sad. maybe Im just over thinking this. I can definatly tell a difference say when she is outside playing with sticks and digging up my yard. Unfortunatly she cant stay outside all day. Although with 3 kids shes outside an awfull lot

just wondering how others know there dog is happy.

We have a fila and people always tell us that she is sad, we have to tell them that- no, she is not sad, she has a lot of loose skin! lol

I know my dogs are happy because they smile and they run and they play and have an overall good time.
