How do you guys take your puppies in the car?

atm, with the dual cab. it has a cover thing over the tray so we pile all 4 inthe back. crates would be very expensive.

i plan on just getting a seatbelt for buster when i get my license. and probably crate my other dogs. or just belt them in the back. either way

Colleen, what kind of harness is that on Sophie? I normally really don't like the seat belt harnesses because the dogs can't stand wearing them, but that one looks comfortable.

For trips into town (I'm the passenger, fyi, as I don't drive) Eve is on my lap or on the floor by my feet. Dakota is in the far back of the SUV. Ripley is in his soft-sided Sherpa bag or in my lap if I am Eve-less. For longer trips, Dakota is crated, Ripley is still in his sherpa bag and Eve is with me.

We are going to be making a 4-day driving trip in a few months with four dogs. Ripley and Dakota are old hats at this, they know to settle down and be good boys, but it should be really interesting with Eve and baby Dawn.

This is it Grace. I have so many other seat belts and I really love this one. I use it for my wheelchair bound clients dogs too as it sits low enough on the chest to protect the Trachea in case of a jolt.

I should mention that a lot of these seatbelt tethered harnesses do allow dogs to stand. Some of them have connect to baby seat tethers, others just provide enough leeway.

The Petbuckle allows Herschel to sit, lay down, stretch out, and even get his nose out the window if it is all the way down.

We don't restrain Cheza but she's confined to the back seat at all times. She's actually too tall to sit up in the car, so she has to lay down.
