Just wondering, because as of right now, im a little embarrassed to say I know barely anything about them, and any opinion I have cannot be backed up at all (like...i refuse to vote for hillary, but I'm not quite sure why, lol)

Anyways, any recommendations for a good place to get caught up? the thing is, I feel like I lack so much knowledge that unless I spend hours and hours everyday reading, I will never be able to make an educated vote...and honestly, I dont have that time, nor do i care to spend my free time doing that.

So any suggestions where I can be moderately informed of their policies and what not? ANd maybe something that actually explains possible consequences? I mean, sure, healthcare for everyone sounds great but umm, yeah, I seriously doubt the feasibility of that one, and am pretty sure it would have some negative consequences...

Their websites have a decent amount of information. If they've written books, that's a good place to go. People in Congress should have essays, transcripts of speeches, etc. that you can go back and read. You should try to find a candidate that has a track record of consistency--not one that "believes" in certain things in 2008 only for the election.

I'm voting for Ron Paul. I don't agree with him on everything, but the choice is still so clear. He's the only one that is honest and has a solid track record. If you haven't heard of him, watch this video: http://www.dailypaul.com/node/1115

I check their websites, videos of them on YouTube to judge their character (thus I know Guliani is scum), and news websites (not necessarily mainstream).

I use votesmart.org. I also go to their campaign websites, youtube video debates, and other internet sources that seem to be reputable.

I usually search on the internet. Last time I found vote-smart and voted against the known candidates ("none of the above") I voted for one of the other parties that the mainstream media denies exist. Did you know there are lots of parties? Every time the media talks about our "two-party system", they're lying their heads off. I never watch the lies & propoganda show ("the news").

I think it's great you want to be informed and not just spoon-fed from the common trough. People vote based on the information they have. The press filters and distorts the information, and I believe it is they who determine the next president, not the people who trust them. That's why it's so important to get away from all that and get the real facts, who ALL the candidates are in ALL 20 or however many parties there are, their voting histories, tangible experience, etc.

I think if the majority who don't vote did a little research and voted, our country would have had different leaders than were elected. What do you all think?
