I have a shelter rescue that I got yesterday and he doesn't want to eat or drink. He throws up a little bit a few times a day. He isn't very active and I am not sure what to do for him. I have the same food he was eating at he shelter so I know he is used to it.
Just hoping that some of you have some helpful tips for me.
Thanks a bunch.

Has he seen a vet yet? Throwing up and lethargy are not good signs. I would worry less about trying to get him to eat right now and more about making sure he doesn't have some sort of illness.

How old/what breed(s)?

Barring any medical problems, he's probably just stressed. Not eating could be making him vomit stomach acid. An OTC pepcid will help settle the sour stomach. I'd certainly make sure there is no medical reason for vomiting and lack of appetite/energy. If he is cleared medically, just give him a bit to settle in. A little low sodium chicken broth may help entice him to eat as well.

Agree . Vet and lots of TLC. You might want to add a little canned dog food and moisten . Poor baby and bless you for rescuing !

I would make an appointment with a VET ASAP and have the dog checked out. The vet will probably be able to tell you what to do....
