Inspired by Samanthas Pet's wedding post:
I don't know if we have had one of these or not but how did you meet your SO?
Brian and I actually met online lol. We met on Yahoo Messenger. I was between jobs and VERY bored one day... and I will admit I have a thing for hockey goalies... lol (I think it comes from growing up with a family full of them so they have always been special to me) So I decided to do a search for members that are goalies. His name came up and showed he was online so I sent him a message just to say hello. I got no response... WHAT a JERK. He could have at least said screw off lol.
Two weeks later I get a random message from a username that kind of looks familiar but I don't know why. It was him. He was away doing "army stuff" for a couple of weeks and even though it showed him as online he actually was not online.... yahoo malfunction.
he was going through an ugly divorce and I had just gotten out of a terrible long term relationship. We were just going to talk online and we didn't expect anything. The more we talked the more we WANTED to talk. So eventually we exchanged phone numbers. We talked on the phone every day.... for hours. it wasn't long before we were really falling for each other. We had never met but our personalities just meshed so well and we always had a great time talking to each other.
We decided to meet. Brian drove all the way up to London Ontario (8+ hour drive) for the July long weekend. I was so nervous and so was he. We talked periodically during his drive and then he finally called to say he was just down the street and would be there soon. I had butterflies in my stomach like you would not believe... I was so excited and nervous all at once. He got out of the car and came in the door and immediately embraced me and then we had our "first kiss" lol. and I knew for sure that I was madly in love with a man I had only just met in person. We spent the long weekend together and it was the best weekend of my life.
3 1/2 years later he is still the love of my life, my husband and the father of our beautiful daughter. I have never looked back
