I just got back from the dentist, which is why I ask ;)

I've never had a problem with my teeth.... Never had a brace, nothing.. Always been straight... My dentist when I was a child would almost happy wee at them... "oh you will wear a gum shield if you do contact sports won't you". Err.. ok.

Just saw the D today (a new one, seen him a couple of times maybe) and he was swooning over them too...!! He doesn't want to see me again for a YEAR!!! Must be the only time not having someone want to see you is a compliment. He said I must look after them well - if only he knew :D

I come from a family of wonky teeth too - my sister wore a brace, my brother wore a brace - had teeth out etc etc etc.

So - have you ever had any work done?

I am pretty lucky I think.

My teeth are awful. Have had quite the dental history.

- Many, many cavities along the way.
- Busted out my front teeth 18 times over the course of my life (I wish I was speaking in hyperbole, but I'm dead serious).
- Got my front teeth replaced with crowns once they stopped growing (so now they're stronger than the temporary stuff they had to use).
- Have had two root canals. One on a back tooth and one on my left front tooth (where I broke it pretty much clean with the gum line)
- Had my wisdom teeth removed
- Had braces

Pretty much put my dentist's kids through college. I brush three times a day but still have shitty teeth. Not sure what the deal is.

I had the whole shebang.. In total 8 braces, and 6 teeth removed.. I had too many teeth for my mouth.. I even had to have one of those AWFUL headbraces.. Apparently my bite was all wrong, my top molars were actually inside my bottom molars when my jaw was shut.. So 6 years of orthadontics were my pennance.

Having said that, now they are perfect.. No cavities, no fillings.. Nothing, just as well really, all that pain and uncomfort had to be for something!

My bottom teeth are crooked and I have more fillings than enamel !! Some molars are broken , but I can't afford crowns and they don't bother me . I'm just glad I still have them !

I had braces when I was really young and no one knows I did since I moved so everyone assumes my teeth are naturally very straight. Every time I go to the dentist, I get asked who my orthodontist was so he could recommend him because he was so impressed with my teeth (and my mom's). I'd have to tell him he was a state away... My sister had braces here and her orthodontist didn't do a very good job and it took a lot longer than mine.

I've only ever had fillings and had my wisdoms extracted (which is why I'm so dumb, apparently). More than once I probably should have been spitting teeth from all of the shots to the head I've taken, but I've been fortunate.

I should have got braces because there is a space between my two front teeth, but the guy said it would be a waste as it would go back that way naturally unless I wear something at night... no thanks.

And I have 4 fillings or so... and one of my teeth broke 4 years ago and I had to have a root canal...

So yeaaaaah lol.

I've never had any cavities and my teeth are all straight. I do have a gap between my front teeth.
I still have 2 baby teeth and the permanent teeth are way up and sideways and will never come down. I didn't know this until I was 18 and without insurance (I lost my baby teeth late and never really counted which ones came out). I need to get the adult teeth surgically brought down and then braces to have them fit in place, but I can't afford that.

I also need my wisdom teeth out and should probably call to get in now that I'm not pregnant anymore

Don't worry about the gap ! Your teeth move forward as you age !
Yeah, it doesn't really bother me. It's just part of how I look. My dad has a large gap and my sister, too. My sister had hers filled in when she was a teenager and then it broke, so now her teeth look terrible. I'd rather have the gap

This thread reminded me to make a dentist appointment so yay :D

Mine should have work done. My bottom right......canine? LOL sits out further than my other teeth. It wasent until I was a teenager that it became noticable.

When I was younger my dentist thought I would never need braces. But I did have a capped tooth and 4 cavities lol.

I havent been to the dentist since elementary school! My mom just couldn't afford it. And now I can't afford it! I even pulled that capped tooth out on my own when I was 18 because it was a baby tooth and a new one was coming up under it. It bled for days.

Now I have my first wisdom tooth coming in in the top left of my mouth. So far so good. As of right now its just fun to feel with my tongue LOL. Im hoping my mouth has room for it. Because again there is no way I can afford a trip to the dentist lol. I will be living in pain.

But other than all that my mouth is good I guess. I still hate my big teeth when I smile though. Ugh. I so look like the Joker :p.

I've got alright teeth...

I have a slight overbite, and my bottom teeth are pretty crowded so a bit crooked from that (never got braces as a kid, have considered getting them fixed as an adult when I can afford it). I've got a chip on my front right tooth, but it's on the back of the tooth so it's *barely* visible. I've never had a cavity, so I have no fillings.

I also have a baby tooth that doesn't have an adult to take it's place so I hope it never gets knocked out.

Mine are OK. I haven't had dental care for 5 years. I have holes in my back teeth that I can stick my tongue in, that cause tooth aches every once and a while. I could use braces, but they're not bad; top teeth are fine, bottom teeth are OK.

I've had a lot of cavaties and 1 tooth out. Had a huge gap in my front teeth but it finally closed up in the last couple of years. They are all a bit crooked but it doesn't bother me.

Please people go at least once a year !!! Some are blessed with good teeth , some not . I was told as a child I'd have false teeth by 20 ! Lord , the best diet , no candy or soft drinks . This was before the days of fluorides etc. Dental care is VERY important !!

I have never had a cavity, though I did have braces. My teeth were a bit crowded and crooked. However the braces really were only for aesthetic reasons, not because I needed them.

I apparently am going to have to have my wisdom teeth pulled...... Which is so not cool.
