Meet Chevy! My guess is shepherd/hound mix. Chevy came from Abingdon County Animal Control where he had been brought in as a stray. He's very sweet, but very underconfident. And so freaking cute! He was shy of me, but when I got down on his level and talked to him in a calm, happy voice, he was all wiggles. I think he'd like a calm, understanding family with his own 10 year old boy to play with and look after.

This lab mix is Boggle. He was an owner surrender to a kill shelter because his owner moved. He is the wiggliest thing! His personality reminded me of other little black dogs I happen to know. ;-)

This is Mackie, a rottweiler obviously. He was owner-surrendered directly to FOHA because they had a baby. I like him, he reminds me of Opie, lol. He's very cuddly, and is smart with some stupid moments. He needs some refining of his manners - I sat down on the ground, and had 80lbs of rottweiler flung at me. He's a good boy though, he'll find a home that appreciates him!

Me: "Mackie, sit!"

"Okie, Iz sitted! Treat???"

NOM

Barking at something beyond the fence. I looked, and all I saw was trees and snow, so I don't know what upset him! I'm thinking a deer, possibly. There's lots of deer.

Big happy smile!

And this is Apple, the plott hound (mix?). He's a nice dog, but he's still a pup with a bunch of energy. Oh and he's SMART. He knows how to open gates! I let him out into this fenced in area, and he ran straight over to the gate and flipped up the thing with his nose. He was followed very quickly by a human having a heart attack, lol. I stopped him before he got out though. He came from a county shelter where he was brought as a stray.

That's all!

Boggle looks like he's got some Bully breed in him; no wonder he's wiggly, lol!

Those are good looking dogs. Sure glad they found their way to you guys. I can't imagine what kind of monster would throw their dog away because they were moving or pregnant, especially knowingly to a kill shelter.

Guess we know why Apple was a stray  Notice he's got Baxter eyes?

Chevy and Mackie have something very special about them, I bet they get adopted quickly.

Apple, I love his ears! And to echo Renee, yup, guess we know why he's a stray! I hope he finds a good home with a very secure fence...

The golden sable color, the mahogany mask, the white feeties, the tail, coat texture and that face ... gotta be a Collie in there somewhere!!! Maybe Collie x Hound (like a Redbone or something)?
