I took Andy in today for his third round of puppy shots, and he is teething like crazy. My vet suggested getting a washcloth and dipping it in chicken broth and freezing it! This sounds like an awesome idea. I've done the same thing with water, but they tend to lose interest pretty quickly. I've got one in the freezer right now, so I'm hoping the chicken broth will make it more appetizing to him. I didn't see any harm in trying it...he can't tear it apart to swallow it so I'll let you all know how it goes. :)

Did the frozen washcloth work?

I need a chew toy that he can't digest like bones. They are sooo not interested in the rubber toys which is too bad.

I suggested this to my friend and she was worried about her puppy learning that it's ok to chew on all cloth, which he already has a problem with. What's your experience with that?

Andy loved it, and he hasn't tried once to chew on any other type of cloth. I think that once the washcloth got his "smell" on it, he knew it was his. He used to be really bad about stealing socks, but if I give him the washcloth, he ignores the sock pile :)
