Well, I was out with Osa about three weeks ago playing ball and Osa re-injured her right hind leg. She just sat right down and pulled up her leg. I initially though that she got something in her paw because after about 10 seconds, she got up and ran off like nothing had happened. The next day we played as normal and she had no problems. The day after we were for a walk and running down a hill and she turn so her right leg was on the downside of the hill and it happened again, she sat and pulled up her leg. Well, we tried to do the two week leash only after bringing her to the vet (he found no looseness in her knee) and she seemed to be doing great and running and playing. One day as I walked down off the deck to say hi, she did "you can't catch me" play move and just jumped about 8 inches to her side and it happened again. This time she just stood there with her right leg hanging off to the side, toes pointed to the ground. Then again, 5 - 10 seconds later, she was absolutely fine like nothing happened. About 2 hours later our neighbor was in our yard (who Osa loves) and Osa was running around and playing with no problems. It seems to only occur if she moves completely lateral. So she has run hard with no problems and did a little hop with problems. I think we might take her to an Orthopod but some people tell us that it will work out on her own. Has anyone heard of a similar problem? Could it be a nerve or pulled muscle?

I would have 2 things done:

I would have a patella test, and a "drawer test" to determine if there is issue with her cruciate ligament(s).

Hope she is feeling better soon.

He did do the drawer test and didn't find anything (no inflammation or movement). He even wanted to see if she limped a little after he did it since it can hurt a bit if there is movement and she was fine.

I am not sure if he did the patella test.
