Hey all!
Lui is a 7 1/2 year old male Samoyed and we live in NZ. He is technically a show dog, but it's mainly his breeder, sometimes me, taking him in 1 or 2 shows a year. He's disobedient (I'll admit) but he's my gorgeous boy! I've recently started taking him to a casual dog show training at the Kennel Club, so we can start showing together in some upcoming shows.
Anyone else who has a Sammy or other snow dog, reply to this! I'd love to know how many, what breeds if not Sammies, and where in the world they live!

I personally do not have a sammy, but my aunt has three, shows one and has an 11 month boy who is a gorgeous show prospect after he calms down a bit and has a 10 year old that is a lovebug. She is good friends with her dogs' breeder and when we lived closer we had the opportunity to socialize which was a blast. If I could handle the long hair, we'd have a marshmallow of our own. :) Welcome to the forums!

Thanks, I'd love to put pics up (believe me there's hundreds on the computer!) but I'm still trying to figure out how to! They're too big and I need to compress them but then they get too small...
I'm gonna go play with them now and see how to make them small enough in quality but not so they're too small.
And yes, the hair is the slight downside. It just comes off. And certain clothes tend to pick it up really easy, I have a pair of shorts it attaches too. But he's so cute it's not his fault so he's forgiven!
And yes I have already learnt stuff! Lui's, um, whats-the-word, slightly disobedient and I want to teach him to respect me as alpha and to come, he's a veteran dog but he hasn't mastered it yet, the world fascinates him too much. I've been given a few tips on how to teach him and I hope he'll be better at it soon.

Me and Lui live in New Zealand, in Porirua City, about a 25 minute drive from the capital. I searched for Samoyed in the forums and I found the one about Zero and I recognised him as a Sammy straight away! There's a Sammy puppy that lives nearby so I can imagine how playful he must be at the moment, the funny thing is though, Lui still is! He's a veteran dog, but people still think he's younger. Someone once asked how old he was, I said 7, and she asked 7 months! I'm not sure how common that is with other Sammies, but anyway...

Is that him in your avitar, if it is he's a cutie!
Sadly, Iv'e never owned a sammy before, I hear they need a lot of exercise, something I can't really do with my dodgy leg, But i think their wonderful dogs.

Yep that's him! :)
That was a lucky shot I'll admit, I think it's cute, I'm trying to get more pics up but I'm trying to compress them without making them too small, it's frustrating but there'll be some soon.
The exercise thing isn't oo bad though. We go out for 1/2 to 3/4 hour a day, and my grandad takes him for the same in the morning. It's not as bad as some people think, but when they get no exercise in a day, because of an emergency or something, they may want to run when you let them out to go toilet, something thats happened a few times... 11pm at night, yelling for him to get his butt back home, whilst trying not to wake the neighbours kids up...
But yes they are wonderful, his breeder still owns his sister, uncle, niece and (technically) brother-in-law. We're also still good friends with his twin brother's owners, and they'll all amazing dogs.
