I've started cracking up when people ask me about Sawyer's age.

There are the people who are amazed that a 5 1/2 year old dog still has that much energy and can run that fast.

Then there are those who are amazed that a 5 1/2 year old Aussie is as calm as he is!

Either way, he's making a pretty good impression on people.

I have the same thing with Rosey.. all the time!

She's almost 11, and people always come up asking how old my puppy is! Even with the gray around the mouth... I tell them and they say with her energy level they wouldn't guess more than a year old.

Even the vet, every time we take her in (which is only once a year for annual check ups and vaccines) she has to double check the chart and ask me if it is right, if she really is 10 years old. Health wise - eyes, teeth, ears, energy, everything, she is like a puppy. She has the energy of a puppy, everything, (including attention span LOL)

Although I gotta say, it gets old after a while. Especially when people don't believe me... they tell me she can't be. Oh yah sorry, you must know how old my dog is better than I do. I've only had her for the past 11 years.

It was the same way for Midnite for as long as I could remember. Now she's beginning to slow down but I think she still gets around good for her age (13). :)

That's great, and reflects good upon his master ;)

Phoebe is 9 and you wouldn't know it if we didn't tell, she's still a streak of lightening and in good health all the way around. One incident in the extreme cold with achy joints.............but the weather was EXTREME! I'd howl if I had to go out in it naked! :lol-sign:

JUst wait about 5 more years and he might have a second childhood. I swear Mary is as goofy now as she was when she was small. I am glad you get compliments on Sawyer. IT makes a person feel just grand when other people recognize good behavior and say something about it.

I get it with Blaze all this time.

Stranger: How old is he.
Me: He is 6.
Stranger: 6 Months..?
Me: No, 6 Years old.
Strnager: Wow Im surprised a dog that old has so much energy.
Me: Well he is a herding breed, known for lots of energy. Nothing is going to slow him down. And 6 isnt very old.

Bugs me when people call him old. He is NOT old. when he is 27 people can start calling him old lol

We were in the vet the other day for his broken tooth, and the vet couldnt believe he was 6 either. She kept saying he has the best teeth (aside from the now broken one he got from trying to catch a rock lol) she has ever seen on a dog his age.

Before Marq started getting grey in his eyebrows, people would accuse me of lying about my 8 year old dog's age. They thought he was no older than 2.

People are always amazed Sophie is getting close to 13, the last couple of years she's come to life again and started acting like a puppy... albeit a very tottery, unbalanced baby but still.
I keep forgetting that for a dog of her size, 13 IS old and she looks amazing for her age.
