Bandit will probably need to be on a retractable leash about 50% of the time now where I walk him. Too close to the highway and he can't really hear too well anymore.

Give your dogs a hug everyone. Time flies. Before you know it they are seniors. My B boy is almost 10.

I've got 11 and 8 coming up this year.
It's crazy, it feels like just yesterday Cobain was a scrawny pup just starting in agility....But he'll be 8 at the end of March.
Hugs all around tonight.

Where does the time go?

No idea. It seems so unfair... but at least he still acts like he's young! He has no idea he is an old man. I love him to bits and I cannot imagine life without him. I don't think any dog will ever be as perfect as Bandit.

Paige (((((hugs))))) You know I adore Bandit. <3 Or at least you should!. :p
I know them feels. :/ Millie just turned 12 and I mentioned her increasing deafness. They're all supposed to live forever.
Making sure to give my girls hugs. Fable is two, which is pretty young, but the time really does fly. . .

Cynder just turned 8. Which wouldn't be so bad, but with her megaE diagnosis it really brought to light that she may not hit the 16 year mark like I was fully anticipating. She really needs to hang around for a very long time yet.

Sawyer is 11 this year and he's just recently started to show signs of age and it's killing me. Now I'm freaking out thinking that everything is now a sign that he's going to not make it to summer and I haven't gotten his protege yet for him to help train and and and HE CAN'T BE GETTING OLDER.

Maddie's hearing is totally gone now, too :( she'll be 12 this year! It's been a hard adjustment for both of us, because this is a dog who spent most of her life off leash in the yard, on hikes, etc
The time sure does fly! I's hard to remember a time without her... I feel like she's been through every major life event with me. Gah, I love this dog so much. It sure is hard to see them age. I do love her white face, though :) and she's much more cuddly then when she was a lot younger. Old dogs are the best!

..... Ironically, my security question was how many ears do dogs have? Well played chaz demons  LOL

I went into labor walking Bandit both times in the same park. I will be devastated when he goes. He has been apart of so many important milestones.

Summer is almost 10 as well. It's crazy, I feel like I just got her but it's been 6 years.

My friend posted a photo of her older dog and a caption under it that I loved. I wish I could remember off the top of my head but it was something like 'Puppies are wonderful and exciting but there is something incredibly special about an old dog and the lifelong relationship between him and his owner.' Only it was worded better.

So true. So so true.

I wish they lived longer, I feel like I still have so much more to learn from Summer.

Seamus is nine this year. NINE .. which hardly seems real. We've had him for almost eight years, though he still seems like the baby to me. Compared to Sally he was always the baby puppy. His face is greying and he's a bit grumpier and not quite as energetic as he once was, but still a massive PITA nonetheless. ;)

Sally would have been fifteen. I really thought she was going to live to her fifteenth birthday. :(

Summer is still going strong for now but she snores nowadays. And her face and eyelashes are grey.

Every day we run agility is a gift. My friend just had to retire her dog a year earlier than she'd anticipated.

Bandit snores and farts now. He is a bit stiffer now too but he still has a spring in his step.

Aging is rough.

Blaze will be 11 in May. scary to me. but I just had a full blood panal done on him a few weeks ago when i took my moms new dog to the vet. he is 100% normal. still acts like a crazy teenage dog. the new house has a huge back yard where they run and play for hours (which is great since this winter has been a killer for real exercise. ) But yet I still get sad realizing how old he really is getting

Solo is just over 3, and he is a bad dog (lucky he is the sweetest kindest dog ever. just a brat lol), and bad dogs live till 30 so I got lots of time with him lol

Buster turned 11 last month. It's giving me a sad.
He still looks in great, he's fit, happy. His HD gets him a bit in the winter but other than that and his little grey eyebrows you wouldn't know.
