We have a vet in our area who has made such a difference for all those that come in contact with him.
He takes in strays and unwanted pets, but most of all he is a protector of abused and unwanted animals.
He helps inform and educate the owners of his 'patients' and also the community. My mom's neighbor
works for him and some of the rescue stories would make you furious and make you cry.
And from what I understnad, he has a low cost clinic and does a tremendous amount out of
his heart. From the stories I've heard, he on a personal mission of taking care of the animals in the
community and teaching the people in the community about the importance of spaying/nuerturing,
keeping animals vaccinated and helping animals stay out of harms way.
He has been so wonderful to my Mom's anceint female Boxer, Tasha, when all the other vets had
just kept giveing her antibiotics over and over, but Dr Mitchell cared enough to ask alot of questions.
Not just about what was going on with Tasha at the moment, but about her history and he discovered
that she had a condition that would have caused her to die a very slow and painful death. Now Tasha
acts like a puppy again. We are so grateful that he cared enough to find the problem and not just
throw antibiotics at her like so many other vets.
