okay i like this guy (lets just call him k) and he likes me. i have known him since i was like 7 (im 14) and we are really close friends and i dont know if I should go out with him. He treats me like an angel and he is really sweet and hes got a great personality but, if I go out with him and we get in a big fight and break up i would lose a really close friend. So I need advice please.

fer reals...I wasn't about having a boyfriend til I was 16 and even then...what a pain in the ARSE he was.

I learned from that and didn't even bother again til I was in my early 20's and then I dealt with men...and even those are a pain in the arse most times.

Put off dealing with "boys" as long as you can.

That's this old married lady's advice.

I have two teen girls (15 & 16) so I can offer a little advice if you want to hear it :)

I know 14 is pretty much the *new* 16-17 these days..........I don't like it, but it's true.

Is this guy the same age as you? If he is old enough to drive.........then I would say NO, don't date him yet, give it a few more years before you consider dating. Give yourself time to "date" guys in your age group, and give him time to "date" girls in his.

If he IS the same age:

My advice would be IF you really like the guy and you guys are good friends as you say..........DON'T make it heavy. "Go out" if you want, BUT........tell him up front that you are going out as FRIENDS. Keep it at friends and hang out, don't make it exclusive as "just dating each other".

The more casual you keep it, the less opportunity for that "big fight" there is. Keep the pressure off the relationship and enjoy being friends with benefits of having someone to go to the dance with! LOL
