Sound like something is going on

If she was having them... she is done now..
if not, get her to a vet and see what is going on.

WHY did you breed your dog in the first place? Its bad enough that pit bulls are already neglected and 90% of the time they fall into the wrong hands. If you have not throroughly researched the breed then you shouldn't even be owning one, not to mention breeding it. Responsible breeders KNOW what symptoms their dogs have when they're pregnant..its not just about putting two dogs together and making some money off the pups.

Did you do health checks on both the parents before they bred?
Did you ensure that they were both checked up for hip dysplasia?
Did you assess both of the parents temperments throroughly?
Are you going to have a contract that states the puppies must be fixed when they go to a new home and never to be bred by the new owners or else you can sue them?
Are you going to ensure that if the new owners don't want the dog anymore, you will take the puppy back and rehouse it properly?

ARE YOU a responsible breeder or a back yard breeder?
Once again, you should NOT be breeding a dog! There are enough pups in this world that are neglected because of people like you sorry to say...

Once again, take your dog to a vet, FAST...and make sure she is ok....once your dog has pups (unfortunate as it may be)...make sure you find excellent homes and screen the potential buyers....and then....for crying out loud get your dog fixed already!

UGH!

I say it because you gave no background information and I don't beat around the bush when it comes to serious issues like that. If you say you got the dog while it was already pregnant than I appologize if I offended you but I am truely passionate about these things.

Where did you get this dog from? If it was from an owner I would definately go back to her and give her a piece of my mind...let her know that she had absolutely no right giving someone a dog without letting them know its pregnant, and that you'll need the vet bills covered....don't take any excuses about how she didn't know.... I don't think I would give the poor thing back to her since she doesn't seem to care in the first place so who knows what she would do with the pups and the mother...

I'm confused though..did you get her from an owner or did you find her as a stray?.... anyways I hope my advice helps...poor dog...take good care of her

to explain further i got her in north carolina my sister in law had a dog that always came around under feed begging for attention we told the own to keep it on a leash and provide for it. week after week dog still came around so with out asking i took it home she was indeed a stray. i guess i should have aborted but didnt have heart. the puppies if under 4 already have good prescreen homes and yes they will be fix along with her as soon as possible sorry so rude i just keep getting this because she a pit no one thinks i should let her have pups i disagree i dont believe in killing something because of someone elses bad choices.

Sorry, Sillygadget. I hope your dog is doing well and the pups are progressing perfectly. I guess we all jumped the gun here. I didn't get to this thread until now, but I can't say I wouldn't have had the same reaction as the others, since we're all impassioned about irresponsible breeding, and it's especially hard on maligned breeds like Pits since so many people persecute them and they've already been subjected to so much ill-breeding by ignoramuses who want to turn a perfectly lovely breed of dogs who make fabulous, loyal companions to us into psychotic monsters.

It's always best to get all the information before jumping in, but your original question carried some urgency. Sorry to say, our reaction to your dog's plight was much like many people's reaction to Pits.

You did a wonderful thing by taking in this poor dog and giving her a loving home. Best of luck to both of you and may you have long and happy lives together. Keep us posted on how she does, and please, definitely post some photos!

I agree, if she's pregnant and seems to be having complications (as it seems to be) then she and the pups both could die during, before or after the pregnancy without medical help. Get her to a vet and fast, if it's a money issue then explain you're situation to the vet - most will be happy to help in any way they can!! Best of luck and keep us posted!!
