I've done therapy visits with 4 Goldens. First they need basic obedience to pass the CGC ( Canine Good Citizen ) ... having passed this you can have the TDI ( Therapy Dog International ) testing. I personally feel that if every dog had their CGC , there wouldn't be the dog problems that are surfacing today . But , that's another thread. The test for TDI has become easier. With 3 of mine I had to tie them to an object and leave the room for 3 to 5 minutes ( can't remember ).... longest time in my life as none had ever been tied ! Now they have someone just hold the leach .Google each test and read up on what's expected . Good luck , it's worth it . BTW... they ask that your dog is clean and presentable . As I went at least once a week , I sure didn't bathe before each visit !
