Okay my little chin, Abby is in the hospital. I posted a few days ago about her having roundworm. She was doing so good, then this morning she was just laying in her box limp. I ran to the vet (in my pajamas). The vet said she will do all she can. She thinks Abby is dehydrated and low blood sugar. She is giving her antibiotics and fluids, and running blood work, told me to call around 3. I can't wait that long. Can anyone tell me it will be okay?!?!? I have 4 dogs, and never a sick one like this. Now How do I handle things with the breeder? She sold my a sick dog full of worms. I will of had her 2 wks saturday, and she has been sick since I've had her.

I would wait until you are contacted by the vet to see if the bloodwork shows anything specific.

I would then contact the breeder with the information you have.
I would assume you do not want to return the puppy or you would not be going out of your way to have her treated.
At this time I would tell the breeder what specifically you want, cost of dog back, vet bills compensated, etc.
See where it goes from there... Is the breeder willing to work with you... or is a more extreme remedy needed.

Good Luck to you and your puppy and please let us know how everything goes.

I do have a contract, but can't remember where I put it - i'm going to look for it in a minute. I think it said if there is anything wrong with the dog, they will replace with another dog, and NOT pay vet bills. BUT the deal is she sold me a sick dogs full of roundworm, and claimed to of wormed every 2 weeks. She is also SUPOSE to be genteic tested etc.... Now that I think of it, when I bought my Boston Terrier 3 years ago, she came with several certificates with vet signature. Her eyes, health and all were guaranteed with a vet signature. Now I feel stupid, because this dog had non of that!!!! Just instructions from the breeder. I just want Abby to be okay. Her gums were very pale, and she just laid there and moaned. She had a shot for pain, vet said her tummy hurt. She was fine last night. I just feel terrible.

I do hope she recovers and you can then address the issue. This " breeder " should be put out of business. She should contact ALL of the pup owners ! There's NO excuse for worm filled pups !!

Found my contract - It says:
.....if your vet finds this puppy to be a poor health risk or detect any physical health problems that would require further vet care other than required vaccinations and/or wormings, you must contact us immediately. No vet fees charged for the exam or any other vet services rendered will be paid by Kennel.

Then it goes on to talk about genetic guarantee. Your puppy is guaranteed for 1 year from the date of birth against hereditary and congenital disorders that may interfere with the pupp's ability to live a normal life. In the event of such an ocurance we will replace your puppy upon availabilty.

So where does this leave me??????

That leaves you as responsible and leaves her out of the loop.
Only a year guarantee tells me this person isnt a serious or responsible breeder.
I also want to play devils advocate and say its possible she got a bad batch of wormer.

I would call her and tell her whats going on. I am curious as to how she reacts

I emailed the breeder first thing this am and tried to call, but haven't heard back yet. I just called the vet, Abby is still hanging on, but still weak. The vet will call with blood results when she gets back from lunch. I'm looking at this as positive news. She is holding her head up, and this morning she was pretty much limp!!
