I noticed about a week ago that my puppy has a sore on her front left paw. The sore started out small and has grown to the point where it is now her entire toe. I took her to the vet and he gave me some antibiotics and a cream but he didnt tell me what it was or what could have caused it. Shes an indoor dog. She's 9 months old. The sore looks like a red inflamed bubble. Theres no fur on the sore. She doesnt appear to be in any pain and when i apply the cream she doesnt act like it bothers her at all. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to what may have caused it bc after the meds get rid of it i would really like for it not to come back. If anyone has any ideas as to what it might be please reply to this post.
Thanks

I have never been to a vet (the ones I liked or the ones i hated) that did an exam and gave me medicine and did not tell me what was wrong, or at least what they thought was wrong with my dog.

I would call the vet and see if they knew what it was... if not I would get a second opinion.

Hopefully it heals fast.

usually my vet is very attentive and helps in any way possible... that particular day i had rushed to the vet and didnt realize they closed early on saturdays and i got there 20 mins before close. He let her come back so he could check it out and examined it prescribed her some meds and sent me on my way. i called to see if he had jotted anything down about what it may be but he didnt he wrote the exact same thing that i posted on this thread... inflamed left paw.. and the names of her meds....hes a good vet and knows what hes doing. usually he goes above and beyond to find out anything he can. He was just in a hurry that day and didnt give me any thoughts...

does anyone know if it is safe to use hydrocortizone cream on dogs... i know that neosporin is okay but is hydrocortizone?? just in case i need it one day.
