My mom and dad are going on vacation over the Christmas holidays. I was going to watch my mom's maltese, Scandal, while they were gone.
Well, something has unexpectedly come up. My father-in-law recently had double bypass surgery. As a gift, we were given airline tickets to go visit him for the New Year. It's very important that we go---my hubby hasn't seen his father in nearly 5 years.
We need to make other arrangements for Scandal. We can watch her until we leave on the 29th, but my parents won't be back until the 2nd.
The problem is that my mom is busy regrowing Scandal's show coat. A maltese coat is VERY high-maintenance, and requires twice-daily brushing at least. None of the kennels we contacted can do the grooming required. They all said that Christmas is their busy season, so they can't devote the time to grooming Scandal at this time of year.
Any ideas what we can do? My mom has been working on this show coat for over a year: she does not want to get Scandal clipped.
