Ok, so I have been wanting to paint my bedroom walls forEVER....
I figured this summer would be a good time, before the hustle and bustle of school starts... (which reminds me of a thread that I wanted to make like THREE days ago, lol, I think I'll finish this one first though)

I'll post a few pictures of my bedroom as is.. well, now it's slightly cleaner, less crowded....

I was thinking of doing a medium-light shade of grey for a base coat, and then doing a little bit of a darker shade and "toweling" it off, to creat an effect like this : only in grey

but im afraid it will look more like concrete.... I dont want that.... I just dont know, I want some COLOR on my walls, but im not brave enough to go with a bold color like a dark red to match my decor....

on to my room pics... (remember, it's considerably LESS crowded as I have put alot of stuff in storage or the closet)

Everything to the left of the TV and table is not there anymore

Everything ON and UNDER that crappy desk is gone, and soon, hopefully that desk will be too, im looking at replacing it with something not so cheap looking and in either black, or a wood matching the existing woodwork.

so, what do you guys think? what color would look best with my walls?

If you want to do gray, go with a darker, warmer shade, or even a taupe, then do ONE accent wall like the sample you posted, only in a blue-red, or even another accent color like a plum or purple.

Here's a sample of what you can do with colors - beige and red and warm plummy espresso colors that would accent, but soften the black and reds.

You can go to www.sherwin-williams.com and use their color visualizer to play around yourself :)

If it were mine I would paint it dark red. My walls are pretty dark turquoise. My new house I'm doing army green and light blue.

I like it and the one Renee posted. They're similar with the accent wall, but the taupe/gray in Renee's post is a warmer color than the gray in yours. I guess that would be personal taste as to whether you rather have the warmer or cooler tone, but the idea is nice.

I REALLY like this one.

Our base color for most of our walls in our house is gray. We have a room that has 3 walls that dark red color too and I love the way it looks together.
