Help dog started vomitting and now has bloody diarrhea

Hi, I am a friend of Mandy's and she said I should post this here.

This morining, my dog started shaking and acting like straining to have a bowel movement. She has been vomitting off and on all day. Just now she has diarrhea and its bloody. Any help out there please? Thank you!

Take her to the vet!! Did you give her any meat in past few days? Or did she get into anything on a walk? What kind of dog food do you feed her? It sounds a little like E. coli O157:H7. A commen symtom for Humans is bloody diarrhia and vometing, I'm not sure if its the same for dogs. E. coli O157:H7 is a foodborne infection.

Get her to a vet right away! It could be any numerous things. If your regular vet isn't open Saturdays find one with an emergency number.

no she hasnt gotten into anything that i know of, she is a very good dog and this came on suddenly, she did have a small piece of steak 2 days ago

Take her to the vet or at the very least CALL your vet and see what he/she says.

Thanks. She eats Science Diet Adult and hasn't eaten anything we haven't (the piece of steak) and she did have a small peice of pizza crust last nite, but we don't give her table food regularly just an occasional tid bit. Thanks again for the advice.
