Okay well I posted about a month or two ago about Charlie who was hiking near the litter box. Well some of you suggested he was simply marking and so we took advice and now use a little gate and all has been well until, well now. We recently redid our guest room (which until a few weeks ago was a reading room and we never had a problem) the cat has taken quite well to this room. If she is not in her lower level of the house (where her area is now since we put the gate up) she is on the bed in the guest room. Well now Charlie is hiking in there. Can this still be marking? Is this a sign of a bigger problem? Btw (this is gross) but he also thinks of the cat as a well kind of mate or something..... he humps her (she's declawed). We try to stop this as much as we can but the cat jumps over the gate to come up, then she can jump over it to go back down and she doesn't. I also actually think that maybe this doesn't bother her so much. So is this normal? I mean we have actually tried to breed him with other dogs and he just won't have it. Is my dog confused or what? I know dogs aren't suposed to go after cats in that way, is this part of the hiking problem? Anyways please help I need advice I can't have him doing this all over. Before it was just in the laundry room (non carpeted) and now it is is my brand new guest room and an obviously bigger mess. So what can I do?!! I can't gate off every room in my home. Thank you and please somebody help me!!!!
BTW-I in no way abuse my cat or allow abuse to happen to her. I seriously think that she enjoys this seeing as she does not do anything to stop it most of the time. However, I do try and stop it as much as I possibly can seeing as how disgusting and just plain wrong this is.
