Hi all, I just joined! I got a link to this forum by one of your moderators, via Dogster!
I'm Ems, and I'm a Veterinary Nurse from the UK. I have 2 rescue dogs, Asha & Elliot. I live with my fiancee Dave and our pets!
Asha is a 3 year old GSD mix. I rehomed her when she was 6 months old after she was rescued from a not-so-nice situation in her previous 'home' if you could call it that. She was a wreck when she arrived - completely unsocialised, terrified and untrained in any way. She was even petrified to go to the toilet in front of me. After a very long period of time, patience and love, she is a normal, well adjusted dog now, but she still has her fair share of behavioural problems. I guess she always will, and I wish I could have found her earlier than I did. We have a very close bond, she is my best friend, as well as being a complete DIVA at times!
Elliot is a 2 year old Staffie mix. I brought him home 'to foster' when he was dumped in a police station all alone, at 6 weeks old. Of course, everyone knew he would never go back. Asha liked him from the outset, so he stayed. An adorable teeny puppy, he just grew and grew...and grew! He far outgrew what any of us thought, but he's just perfect. He's the opposite of Asha - confident, bolshy, boisterous, messy & Trouble with a capital T. He's always getting himself into mishaps, but we love him the way he is. He's a great character, and although a little too rough at times, a great playmate. He loves everyone and everything, is great with other dogs (though a little OTT for little ones & puppies!) and is fantastic off lead.
