Have you met Heather yet? And many other of our good friends from the North post here. Hope you will learn and enjoy, and also provide us with info about what life is like with _3_ kids AND a ferret, rofl. Welcome, welcome.

Im really not that computer stupid but please tell me how to add a pic to your signature.. cuz I apparently can not figure it out.. LOL
You have to have the picture located somewhere on the internet. I have my own domain, and have all my photos there. See if you can find photobucket. It might be photobucket.com That is where many of the posters put their picture and then use them here. Once you get and "address" for the picture you just put it into the sig.

HOPE that helps! PM me if you need more help.

Angelfire does not allow "hotlinking" with their free accounts!

And oh boy, are you a blessing!!!!!! I have spent 3 days working on my computer just to install the PC-Cillin Int. Security 2005. First I got an error 1606. After hours on the phone with Microsoft and forking out $35, they never did fix it. PC-Cillin told me to delete the registry key I was getting the error for. Did that, was able to install, but then the computer kept shutting off, and when running was like molasses in January, till it would finally just freeze up!!!!!!

I was getting the message to verify drivers when it would turn off and show the blue screen (I disabled auto restart). I tried it, but don't think I accomplished a thing. It said there were 5 unsigned drivers. Whoopie.....so what??????

Today a genius finally had me add another user to the computer, and use that account to install the PC-Cillin. It worked, but things were still very slooooowwwww at first, and it did shut off a couple of times.

But at the moment for some unknown reason, everything is working wonderfully! Of course, I am running XP with SP 2, which could be the problem, rofl.

I have a kindergarten level of HTML writing. Years back I used a template to make one page, then sourced it and then started studying HTML. Don't know a thing about CGI or the other fancy stuff that is out there. Tables seem very simple, but are confusing to my brain. The concept is easy......the application is not.

Try Photobucket!!!!!!!!

PC Cillin

MC - are you up to date on virus checks installed checks are not enough.. you need to run an online one as well?... 1606 errors are always a registry problem... have you ran a debugging program lately? When was the last defrag?......PC-Cillin is not a great program unfortunately.. alot of people have problems with it.. XP is great... SP2 is ok.. but only if installed with XP and not an update .. if it's an update it's a trouble maker.. As for unsigned drivers.. you should set your driver signing to "ignore" instead of WARN.. Also if you installed a program such as McAfee or such lately.. you probably have a mountain of things running in the back ground... located in your msconfig.. they can slow you down... those are a few things off the top of my head.

I set my Driver signing to Ignore. It has been a long time since I got the notice that a program was not complient with XP. Maybe they just don't admit it any more.

I got the PC-Cillin for only $7.95, which ya can't beat with a stick. I checked at PC World, and they rate it above Norton and McAfee. Also several fellow Webtvers use it on their computers and speak highly of it.

I have a whole bunch of very handy, convenient little programs and applications that I run on this thing, and it is possible that something there conflicts. I am going to go thru and try to find all the spyware stuff I have on here, such as Spybot, and Adaware. Also spyblaster. I have the spyware feature of PC-C turned on, and it might be conflicting with something else.

At this point in time the machine has been running without problems for 8 hours and 24 minutes, lol. (I have WinBar, which tells you all this neat stuff.....like CPU usage, date time, and such.)

Thanks for your help. You are already a blessing to the forum!!!!!!!!!

MC- When was the last time you did a complete format? I know it's extreme.. but should be done yearly for prime computer use... I do mine 3 times a year.. but I also have another hard drive and also a partitioned hard drive to back up files.. the only thing on my C:/ drive is Windows... and installed programs... so formatting is easy and the download or complete package is on the back up drive so they are easily reinstalled...

PC-Cillin was a bust. Computer kept shutting off. I am going to try Zone Alarm.....I was getting errors about shutting down Vector something or other, and just when I was getting close to success, the modem went blotto. I am using dialup at the moment. Guy coming out tomorrow to check my wiring......B.S. !!!!!!! I took the modem out and plugged it into the box outside my trailaer, and the thing is still blinking that it is not getting a DSL signal!!!!

I need to take a very serious break from all this. 6 days of bovine feces is enough at one stretch.

I am like you.....just the O.S. and scads of programs and applications I have downloaded over the last couple years. I am going to get a few DVD-DL and just put all my Documents and Settings on them. I have a fantastic program from Ashampoo. Makes burning disks so easy even a 7 year old could do it!!!!!

Thanks for the help!!!!!!!!!

Welcome!!! Glad you decided to join, and make yourself at home!!! :D

About adding pictures into your signature, first you will have to get an account at www.photobucket.com or some other place. You can always go to www.tinypic.com , except photobucket will let you keep all the codes to other pictures, when tinypic won't. But the good side of tinypic is that you don't have to get an account and their URL's are always small.

Once you have got an account or at tinypic.com, you upload the picture you want to post. Once you have done so, you should see various codes (Url, Tag and IMG). Copy the code for IMG and then paste it into your post. To put it in your signature, just put the picture in the place you would put your regular signature.

Hope that helps. :)
