I have two freinds that have goldens. Is your the field or the show type. My boss had a cocker she was darn cute.

I have a show type retriever, he's blond and I've noticed from books and pictures that a lot of American retrievers are more a reddish colour, which is nice also.
Cocker spaniels are great dogs too, a lot of coat care but great natured dogs. I'll try and post some pictures of them both.
