I have never been a member of one of these forums before, but Im dying to get my seven month old goldendoodle Shabang onto a flyball or agility team on Long Island. Im trying to find a team, but having a lot of trouble. Can anyone point me in the right direction. Shabang has a lot of energy, and a passion for chasing tennis balls. I just know we would both have such a great time. Thanks so much!

Hello & welcome to chaz. I don't think you can compete in agility until your pup is 2 yrs old. I think they have junior equipment for the younger ones. It's not good for a dogs growing bones & joints to do jumping until at the very least 12 mths old.
I've also seen some research on spay/neutering the k9 athlete. They recommend waiting until a bitch has had her 1st season, which I'm going to do with my puppy, & 12 - 18 mths for dogs. Something to do with stopping their hormones from doing their job in the way they grow.
I just love his/her name. Look forward to see pics.
