Hello just joined here!
Stumbled upon this forum when i was looking up dog grooming stuff last nite
Anyhow..
let me apologize before hand for the lengthy intro
guess i'll post pics later because of the 4 limit

My name is Tracy and i have 5 dogs.

Shadow is a 6.5 yr old Great Pyrenees/Black lab mix.
I got her from my ag teacher in my freshman year of high school...his dogs mated and wahla he had puppies and then he was giving them away at the school petting zoo
but i fell in love with Shadow so i took her home

Keesha is a 6.5 yr old sheltie mix??? best guess anyhow...
I was working at a vet clinic and a very nice lady brought her and her littermates in after finding them dumped in a ditch out in the country.
all of her littermates got adopted out but nobody wanted her cause she was the runt female and very scared.
Me and her bonded instantly though!

Sheeba is a 5.5 yr old akita/chow mix?? again best guess
she belonged to a family a couple doors down from me and they didnt treat her very well and they eventually got evicted and left her behind to fend for herself..one day she got out of their yard so i caught her and took her home, vet estimated her age to be 5 months at the time. took some time and TLC but now she knows how to love and play!

Elijah is a 5 yr old pit bull (mix?)
He's suppose to be purebred but doesnt appear to be.
Long story short, his previous owner and the guys brother bred their 9 month old pit bull to the neighbors pit bull and the mom ended up eating over half the litter but they kept eli and treated him like crap so I took him away from them when he was about 5 months old

and then there is Ozzy
He's a 5 yr old golden ret. mix? he was actually born in the same home eli came from but a different mom of course, they were born 2 weeks apart. Ozzy's mom was actually a small beagle mix so it's funny how he turned out..
up until about 2 months ago ozzy was a very active and fun loving dog.
He was my buddy that i always took out the the lake to swim and fetch. He looooooooves to fetch!
but about 2 months ago he suddenly became paralyzed.
i was playing fetch with him and the 3rd time i threw the ball for him he was running and suddenly went down screaming.
I rushed him to an emergency vet and they took some X Rays and told me they thought he either had a herniated disc or arthritis build up in his spine and he may or may not get better and prescribed him pills and complete bed rest.
I took him to a regular vet on the following monday and she didnt really agree with the emergency vet. She said it could be a possibility but she thought he may have coon hound paralysis...wich i had never heard of but she explained they have linked coon bites to dogs being suddenly paralyzed a few weeks later:confused: she said she wanted to do a couple more x rays though so about a couple weeks later we did and she said the spot in his spine they were originally worried about was basically gone but there was another spot farther up his spine that may be causing problems so she suggested we take him to a chiropractor..and we did..but it didnt seem to help much
so he's still on medication and he is getting better but his right leg isnt really responding...so i dont know what i am going to do.
