I have 3 dogs, a neopolitan mastiff who is 5yrs old, a 2 yr old rhodesian ridgeback x german shepherd who was an nightmare scary puppy but is now a (semi) reformed character, and a real cranky but lovely 18yr old greyhound cross. I have been a clicker trainer for many years but currently taking time off due to ill health. I was one of the dog trainers for the film The Adventures of Greyfriars Bobby starring Christopher Lee amongst others.

Hi and welcome and yes, we love pics!! I bet you would have some fun stories to tell about working on that film. I jus watched that movie not to long ago but for some reason I can't remember what kind of dog was in it though...wasn't it a skye terrier in the story? *scratches head*

Nice to have you!!!

breed of dogs in the film

3 dogs were used in the film. Originally Skye Terriers were going to be used but the ones seen proved to be a bit too independant for thetraining. Instead we used West Highland Terriers who had never been clipped so had quite long hair. They enjoyed the whole process and were very focused It was thought that this compromise was better than using dogs that would,ve been unhappy. Welfare had to be paramount.

Thanks

I will post pictures as soon as my daughter shows me how to do it . Im a wee bit of a technophobe. Tidus my ridgeback cross (he is very ridgeback) is a beautiful dog amazing ridgeback red colour. I feel warm just looking at him. He was a massive challenge behaviour wise. A very strong domineering soul but he has improved massively. My mastiff Roxie is ash-blonde and has never been a problem.Shes a dear gentle soul, shes a rescue dog. Trixie my greyhound cross (lurcher) is rescue and at 18 is still going strong, she was originally very dog aggressive but with much careful socialization that was sorted out. Shes just a bit cranky sometimes with age, but at 18 shes an old lady and we put up with her quirks.
