Hello from east central Alberta

Thankyou, Barb. Yes, it is a nice group--smaller than it used to be, but I am getting a little older too. Did not have much time earlier to really introduce myself. I now work in retail, but have owned and worked in our own specialty sawmill; worked in home support and hospital care; been an auto-detailer; a bookkeeper, raised two children and moved often--then 7 yrs ago, in my late forties, from British Columbia to Alberta.
I have owned members of 8 breeds and a couple of mixes; been a dog groomer; dog trainer; competitor in OB, Flyball and tracking; done some hunting with dogs, and bred the litter my Caesar is from.
I have not had horses for the past couple of years now that I have moved into town, but I used to compete in CTR and small schooling shows, with several breeds, as well as teach them to drive.
I enjoy meeting other like minded [slightly animal obsessed] individuals, either in person or on the internet, so I join a new group every year or so.
I am a director of our fledgling local SPCA, and a strong promoter of education of people before and during ownership of any living creature.
