Hi found this site searching for something and thought I would join. My name is Louise I live in Australia with my two mini foxies Hilary and Mali as you can see in my signature. They are the sunshine of my life and I love them to bits. I love all dogs but particularly german shepherds and mini foxies. German Shepherds up until recently I have owned and bred for the last 26 years but due to ill health I now find myself unable to cope with the work load that goes with them. Believe me the Mini Foxies make up for them 4 Kilogram shepherds they have all their loyalty and more.

I am hoping to get to know more of you and hopefully make some new friends. The possibilites are endless. Mini Foxies are very similiar to what you call Rat Terriers over there in the States. This breed has captured my heart. I hope to meet more mini foxie lovers.

Louise

Welcome to the forum! Bet you'll love it :D
Mini foxies? Interesting! I've never actually heard of them but your two are lovely! Very cute! Are they like a designer breed or are they recognised breeds or anything?
Would love to see more pics and hear some stories about them :)

No they are not a designer breed not at all but one of the purest breeds here in australia. They are wonderful little dogs such smart loyal companions very much like german shepherds but much much smaller. Melbourne is a beautiful place I do not live far from Melbourne about 60 kilometres west of it in a town called Geelong. Thanks for the warm welcomes below is a link to the Mini Foxie Club Of Australia where you can learn more about these wonderful little dogs.

I go to Geelong every year at least once a year. I also have a house in Melton, not far from Geelong. It is my favourite place especially the Great Ocean Road where there are a lot of seafood. I wonder...is the seafood market still there by the ocean? Last time I was there, they have a whole heap of upmarket seafood restaurants but I still enjoyed the place where there are a lot of fresh stuffs you can pick and choose and take home, too...Geelong is a great place...glad you stopped by here...

Hello & welcome to chaz from Sydney. Neighbours of ours 1st mini foxie looked a lot like your Mila. Sadly he was killed by a big dog, running loose around the street. They now have another little fellow with ears like your Hillary. My mum used to say they had mini foxies when she was a girl, she's now 91. After seeing an old pic from her youth, it was no mini foxie, more like a little wire haired terrier.
Look forward to hear all about your puppies.

Thanks everyone for the warm replies and yes I am sure you will see more of my little guys soon. Buckaroo do you live in the states or here in australia? The great ocean road is awesome its a wonderful drive. Unfortunately it is not something I do very often as it makes me sick. The seafood here is lovely and we enjoy it regularly here. Geelong is a great place and I am proud to call it home.

Sydney hey one of my favourite holiday spots. Big dogs are my worst nightmare when it comes to my mini foxies the fear of them getting them like your neighbours dogs they just do not have any defences in them to stop a larger dog. Oh okay it probably was a mini foxie or a jack russell perhaps not sure if the original mini foxies had wire coats. Might have to ask that one. Great to see fellow Aussies here and I hope to make new friends from all over the world. Thanks again for your warm welcomes.

We've done the Great Ocean Road twice. The 1st time in 1982, when we went across London Bridge. I think it was 6-8 mths after the Ash Wednesday fires, & I wondered why the trees looked funny, until I remembered the fires. The last time was in 1999. That time we actually walked down to a couple of the beaches. I love it.

Thanks Marley for the welcome. Yes the ash wednesday bush fires here were horrible. No wonder they looked funny they were burnt to a crisp. Lots of things have changed since you were last here if you ever this way again look me up.

I assume your Mini Foxies are the same or similar to the UKC registered Miniature Fox Terriers here in the US. My husband's parents had one when we first got married. Her name was Skeeter and she was a darling.

Welcome to Chaz, and it is nice to see some Skeeter dogs! I haven't seen one in years.
